Wow this is new to me , Go OSTER!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

Re the Waring above,, it's from around 1968-1970, that design was then followed by this wedge shape. Here's the TOL chrome wedge shape, same speeds, 60 sec timer,, not sure the wattage cause the sticker is missing on the bottom but at least 850 because the BOL & MOL wedge models have 7.1 amp motors. This is also where Waring began the wagon wheel drive on the jars. You can just see the jar bottom with the big removable white bottom

re the Cycla matic

There's a dial that is "Off- CYCLE - ON"
If you set the dial to ON then the slider switch shifts the 8 buttons from low range to high range giving you 16 continuous speeds.

If you have the dial set at CYCLE then the slider switch is sort of the same except that for the 8 low speeds it cycles slowly "more off time than on time", slide it to hi and the 8 higher speeds cycle and they cycle much quicker, more run time than off time.

I have the Panasonics on Youtube and this Oster I put on today since I had it out and dusted it off.. Also have the Ronson cook'n stir etc.
Here's a link, then look for all the rest of them including the vacs.

WOW, Dude

Im glad you told us about washing blender containers in the DW. Never again. My Bosch DW even removes the markings on the coffee pot.....Bill in Az....

Yes I am going to save for my VM XL too-Remember you will need to call a commercial foodservice dealer to get one-A good one is Evergreen Trade-they are in California somewhere.I get my VM's and parts from them. Will have to work LOTS of OT to get that VM machine. You can find Evergreen Trade on the Internet.
If you want a metal base Blendtec-you can get one of the Foodservice models such as the Smoother,Titan.for home use they sell a version called the Connoiseur. All of these machines have a metal motor housing and jar platform.they can be mounted in a cutout in your couinter or table-or you can use them in a stand that comes from Blendtec. You can also get a sound enclosure as well-I have this-its worth it.Blentecs are great but they do make a loud SCREAM while going.almost like a chain saw in the kitchen.Despite the noise-love their results. The metal based machines are quieter-the plastic base makes a good sounding board for the noise.

Pete

thanks for posting, If I close my eyes You sound just like John Lefever! He grew up in Minnesota, is that an Alberta accent, did you grow up out in the Mid West?

I have never seen that wedge Waring before also way cool!
Have you noticed that Waring & Oster are returning to the block drive on their commercial models? They advertise them as "All Metal Drive"! Seems like VM is giving them a run for their money.

I grew up here in sw Ontario accent free LOL
Hate hearing myself, I always sound so droll like that guy that does those dreadful tv commercials and/or movie/sitcoms as a boring teacher. Certainly not the Mr.Excitement I am in real life ha.

Guess this started out as blenders doubling as a food processor.Somewhere in my collection I have an Oster food processor attachment that sits atop the Oster blender base.It has a transmission inside to slow the blender motor speed down.It has a "S" chopper-mixer blade and a slicing-shredding disc type blade.one side of it slices-the flip side for shredding-grating.the attachment does work-Its been thru a few moves-trying to find it.It was part of a blender-food processor combination that was on sale and asking for a home.
weren't those "wedge" Waring machines the Futura model line-i am looking for a deluxe metal base one.As I have said finding vintage machines in my area is difficult and slow.
I did buy a new Waring commercial foodservice machine from a discount restuarant supplier here-it hase the "spline" drive instead of the wagon wheel.I have an older Waring base (home type)that has the spline drive.in fact the container from the new blender fits it fine. The new blender I have has the quart size SS container with "food" type blades.Waring also makes another blade set-(ice-drink service) blades for their bar blenders.one blade on these has rounded tips instaed of sharp pointed ones that the food blades have.
Oh yes-love the Oster "Cyclamatic" video-this machine is very intersting-much like some of the cycles used today.how does the machine do it-for one that old-wouldn't think it has a microprocessor inside like the new ones do.And like how it cyles on all of the speeds-very useful.

Temptation was just too great-I ordered a VM XL from Evergreen Trade yesterday.Should come in about a week. Will my fruit and food be screaming in terror-will have to find out. Can't wait to get the thing.Maybe I should blend my credit cards in it???Will let you know how the XL works.I am betting it will be a quiet machine for its size.Usually belt drive blender motors are quieter. This reminds me of the early GE BD blenders but on steriods!

Wow I want one of those too... Noticed how they don't give you a price on the website that I could find LOL
You're right it is like the little GE on steroids. I'll have to get mine upstairs and do a video on it,, needs to be dusted off and ran anyways..

Metal Label Attachement for HB Blender

You might want to try and get the thinnest velcro you can and see if that might work for you, this way you can remove it and replace it.

Doug

The price on the VM XL well is-be sure your credit card balance is good-or you have saved up-its $1750+$35 is shipping from Evergreen Trade. Its to be shipped to me from the factory.I think my credit card bill will be screaming in terror when I get next months bill-along with me.but the blender should be fun though-I do use a blender for each of my meals.Spin Cookery!Maybe Anne Searaine should have an XL-Remember her "spin Cookery" Blender Cookbook-I have a few of them. One my Mom gave me-and in hers was tucked a cookbook for a 1950 Kenmore Blender.
I enjoyed the video of the GE blender-was quite loud-but effective.Looks like a compact but very powerful unit. And looks like it has an Oster or Waring like spline drive.Any other blender videos-they are interesting.

Bought a Breville blender at the Linens and Things Going Out of business sale.It has the special blades. For the price of the one listed at Frontgate-you would better better off to spend the extra money and go Blendtec or Vita-Mix.The Brevilles are made in China-good quality-but no match for a Blendtec or Vita Mix.The Breville I have is the model below the one shown in the Frontgate link.I beleive the one from Frontage has a Lexan jar instaed of glass-and the higher power motor.Smoothies made in my Breville weren't very smooth-had to use the pulse function several times to grind up the pith. The Breville machines are interesting-better than some blenders.

Oh yes--the wait for my VM XL continues-supposed to arrive at any time now. Will tell all about it when it arrives and is unpacked and tried-won't be getting anymore new blenders for awhile!!But there is always the yard sales.See what they turn up or any more going out of business sales.I also bought a Waring new model "Rocket" blender at the Linens and Things sale.It was also better than the Breville.Actually a made in US Oster blender from a yard sale or swap shop would be better than the Breville.I do use my Breville-its an interesting and fun machine even though other blenders are better.

I got a Waring new Rocket blender last year at Value Village iirc for about $10. I've only plugged it in to see it works but never used it. I also got the black Waring Classic with the metal jar there as well on another trip for $6.99 iirc

Oh Pete

I love those new Rocket blendors with the speed dial! Is it loud, how does it compare to the original??

Tolivac, I think there might be a greater difference in models than you think. A 1000 watts is not to be sneezed at , and I have used the companion Breville Juicer and as a former Bartender I can tell you the juicer cranks. Now I would not compare any of these units to a VM or BTEC but as counter blenders it looks pretty good to me.
Must start crusing CL for a "moving must sell" ad

Guess what was waiting earlier today-the VM XL arrived.Wished I had a camera to show it unpacked-this thing is a MONSTER!After cleaning both jars tried it out-and it sure makes a SMOOTH smoothie! The base is metal with a black plastic cover-and ITS HEAVY!!-stays in place when it runs. Its got the same heft as a KA mixer.Even though its books says not to use frozen fruits-I did put some frozen strawberries in my smoothie and the VM XL critter handled it with no problem. The speed control on the machine works very smoothly. The blade in the 1.5 gal container is almost 5 in across-and 4 points. The smaller container has a similar but smaller 4 point blade.the blades have a very shallow pitch on two of the wings for circulation.Moved my frozen smoothie with no problem. Will try it some more!
Yes for the Breville-the 1000W motor should do better than the 700W one on the Breville I got from Linens and Things. With all of the blades in the Breville machine was sort of disappointed in its performance. The lower priced Waring Rocket Blender outdid the Breville machine.Tell me how the 1000W one performs-would like to know.I have not used the Breville juicer.I have a Champion juicer. It works really well and is very quiet. And its lower speed induction motor doesn't "heat" the juice.I mostly use blenders for "juicing" much less hassle and the pith is ground up so you can drink it for additional nourishment. What type motor does the Breville juicer have?
Oh yes my Waring "Rocket" blender has the 3 speed dial. Its a nice little machine-and the speed indicator lights up to tell you what speed its running.

The Waring Rocket blender I have looks just like the one in PETEK's picture.I also have a similar black Waring blender with the SS jar.I don't have any orig Waring rockets-one that I saw at a swap shop junk box had a missing jar and the spline coupler was BROKEN!How did they do that?

Thanks Doug

But I found this thin two sided gluey rubber made by 3M its perfect for glueing down the label on the hamilton beach.

You can pull it up no problem.

Hey Pete, I never knew! We had that exact GE blender growing up! It was not as noisey as your model there must be some wear in there. But I never knew that was belt drive, I used to crush ice in it all the time!

Thanks for sharing.

Jon

I agree, I'm sure it would work. But I already have 11 blenders which is quite enough for now. BTW, power isn't everything, my best blender so far is a 400 Watts Braun MX32. It makes very smooth smoothies, much better than some blenders with more power. Here's a picture of one (not mine, picture from the internet).
