I have always admired the wringer washing machine that my mother used to wash our clothes so many years ago. I currently own an automatic washing machine that I use very frequently for doing my laundry. Sometimes I notice that my clothes get snagged on the agitator and start ravelling with the material getting very frayed from repeated washing. Would a wringer washing machine be any better to use to save my clothes from being torn in the machine. I am not sure if i would be able to use one in my current location in Slocan, BC where i live in a trailer. I would appreciate any information that could be given to me regarding my purchase of a new wringer washing machine.

But there are used ones out there. A Maytag wringer was noted for it gentle but effective wash action. (gyrofoam. I've never had my wringer tear anything up.

I have been looking at one on the Lehmans site but if someone could give me a better deal I might be interested in checking it out. I like the old machines but not this model as much. I liked the Speed Queen Models with the old fashioned wringer with the knob on the top.

I don't much about the Speed Queen wringers but others here do.
The Maytags all have nobs on top for the wringer roller pleasure, and a nob on the front to start agitation, or stop, as shown above.
You may find a good used Maytag easier than a Speed Queen, I believe there were more produced, and were fairly bullet proof.
Let's see if there are any Speed Queen users (wringer) that will come by and let us know.

Have you looked on ebay for a Speed Queen wringer? Anything near you. I'm guessing you've checked your local C.L ect
There out there. One will turn up if you just keep hunting.

Speed Queens are out there; in fact, after Maytag, Speed Queen is the brand we next most often see, but then again there's been a bunch of Kenmore showing up too, and they're all wonderful machines, each with its own special little identifying markers, quirks, and joys.
