all, I desperately need to find a 1960's GE fridge before I am forced to buy something new.

I'm not super picky, as I have a great repair guy and I'm prepared to have it painted.

My wish list:

1. bottom freezer
2. swivel shelves
3. turquoise color
4. foot peddle to open
5. the chrome/metal-colored design accent panels

none of that is a deal breaker, just need to find one of the boxy-designed models from the 1960's to match existing items

These show up on CL occasionally.  Unfortunately, due to the hipster factor in greater Los Angeles, they are usually priced quite a bit higher there than in other areas.

I've been keeping an eye out for the smaller version that's 30.5" wide,  but the larger ones seem to have been more common.

yeah, I'll keep any eye out on CL.

I travel quite a bit, so looking out beyond LA doesn't bother me.

if anyone has one hiding in their collection that they don't mind parting with, please let me know!

That's a nice one.  Probably a '59 or '60.  The one in the vintage ad above is a year or two newer.  The model pictured appears to have the semi-automatic ice maker option.

I messaged the seller, we'll see what happens.

it looks like the decorative panel on the bottom is scratched up pretty good. any experience cleaning those up or repairing them?

I'm not so sure those are scratches.  If they are, some stainless steel cleaner/wipes could diminish them.  They look more like drip marks to me.

I really like those early Frost Guard Combinations. The trim and the script are nice accents that disappeared on the later ones.
