Picked up an Agrifab dethatcher at Tractor Supply. Put it together, got some stray rocks for weight and off I went.
What was pulled up was not at all unexpected. I mowed one setting lower and wouldn't ya know, the Huksy sort of choked on some of the heavier stuff. That was unexpected as it is dry as a martini around here.
So when all said and done, I put the mower up on ramps and spent about 30 minutes scraping off all the gunked on grass and noticed the blades are a helluva lot duller now after that workout. I don't recall hitting excessive amounts of stones etc but nevertheless, the less than stellar steel used on the blades definitely showed itself today.
Tomorrow I will sow, later I hope to reap. Sort of.
Later on next month I will pull the blades and put a Ginsu type edge on them or as much edge as can be done with a 40 dollar grinder from Harbor Freight.
