A nice GE Carry-Cool from the 1980's that's seen little use...only $10! 5800 BTU; a little bigger than some Carry-Cool models I've seen--which is good!

The seller mentioned "Will not ship" but I know for a fact that UPS will take it. Sent him an email asking for the dimensions and if he could just box it; UPS would pick it up...still waiting for a reply.

INDESTRUCTIBLE

Grew up with those.... Finally gave'em away upon installing central air. Lexan plastic case is indestructible.

Easy to hose-down the evaporator drip-pan due to wrap-around inner coils.

oh and its easy to put a few drops of a nice-scented general-purpose or floor cleaner (like lysol liquid) in by the interior fan. Gets the musty/ moldy smell out of the coils and makes the pans self-cleaning.

Enjoy....although they can be prone to make noise and rattle

Once upon a time...

I had the Sears version of the Carry Cool. It was a BOL model--and I do mean bottom. It had on and off. That's it! No speeds, no thermostat. On. Off. Take yer pick. But it worked. And it must have been cheap. Finally traded it for a GE (gasp!) model that had actual settings.

GE Carrycool

One small problem with this listing....the guy doesn't want to ship it or even prepare it (by boxing it) for a UPS pick-up. My beef is.....he should have put it on Craig's list and just sold it. He also intimated that he thinks he can get $30.00 for it. Oy vey!

Veg - it's in your area.....need some more AC?

Venus - the un"cool"

Best o luck

on getting it shipped, but if he doesn't there's plenty still out there just waiting. Something about that ad just rubs me the wrong way..had it since new in the 80's stored? could be, then used two summers in 2002/3 ish when he got central air. Could be but just comes across as odd, the ad and him..lol

Deale, MD? Never hoid of it!

I have CENTRAL now, thankyouverymuch, and enjoy it immensely. I'm still surprised by walking from room to room and having them all be the same temperature!
