I didn't know your culture had adopted the grill.

My understanding is that the "newly-arrived dirty low-class immigrants" in this counry brought outdoor grlling with them and it took a long while for it to catch on as socially acceptable. Is this true?
In the meantime has anyone seen the new grills that feature a gas oven? They were circa $1,000 at one of those big-box outlet stores. I have also seen portable waterproof outdoor gas ovens (with no cooktop) as well. Sheathed in SS and on casters/wheels.
I'd like to sample a little of each of those food items, please! Funny to me that as I mature a big slab of meat is less appealing. [DONT GO THERE!].

I have found
written accounts of grilling here going back into the 17th century. I believe it occurs in many cultures (like the making of alcohol)and most likely goes back so far we loose track of any written accounts of the method.

I'll have you know, glam...looking at all the scrumpdillyicious offerings on that barbecue grill made my mouth water and made me gain 5 lbs.
