Count me in on that. I have several of her albums and listen to them whenever the mood strikes. Her highly-stylized delivery is definitely a love-it-or-hate-it affair.

One of my prized records is an autographed 10" Yma Sumac LP. I have the same one in a later 12" version. Another reason to get a turntable hooked up to my audio system again.

I love Anne Bancroft. Gia Scala is a name you never hear any more. I believe she committed suicide. I have to watch this again, fortunately it's one of the videos that works on this computer. Thanks for sending this. Yes Gyrafoam, and she is an acquired taste.

Don't get me wrong, I can't listen to our gal Yma day in and day out, but it's great to play her for people who have never heard her before. As my sister's former boyfriend once said, she has a voice that can cut tin. And I guess she's still going strong, as it wasn't too long ago that she performed at a venue somewhere in the Bay Area.
