You Get a Lot of Clean with Tide

Was that the one with the jingle that went something like "You get a lot of dirt with children, how they grind it deep inside, you get a lot of dirt with children, you get a lot of clean with TIDE?"

I remember that commercial; have you checked eBay or one of the other auction websites? eBay has a lot of collectibles in soap and detergent categories...some years ago, I saw an offer for a film copy of a 1970 Ajax Laundry Detergent ad showing a kid in a baseball uniform running across the screen in a strobe-light, stop-action style as the announcer says, "Break through to a whiter shade of clean with today's Ajax Laundry Detergent!"

Surely someone has some Tide memorabilia...

Yup! That's the catchy jingle all right. First found it on this "Vio" or whatever video Web site, which requires registration, and then the installation of it's own video player, which I chose not to do. Otherwise, I could only listen to that ad on the Web, but could not download it. Since my income is limited, and since I don't do much online shopping, I figured maybe somebody out there might be willing to assist in scavenging a suitable Windows Media copy of this or other hard to find TIDE commercials. I would also like to find a compatible copy of a TIDE XK TV ad. There are a couple of TIDE ads in the Internet Archive site, but both downloads won't play unless some kind of a codec is installed in Windows Media, which I am having a whale of a time doing, and really don't care to mess with, except to maybe locate copies of these TIDE ads in the usual default file formats. By the way, I do have a copy of a TIDE ad that has the jingle of "The cleanest clean under the sun." However, this ad is embedded within a larger MPEG file containing several other classic TV commercials. Would like to have a separate copy of that particular TIDE ad so I can enjoy running it with the other TIDE ads in my Vintage Detergent Ads computer collection. Therefore, if a "YouSendIt" or similar download method of such files can be posted here, this might work quite well. Again, many thanks for your suggestions.--Laundry Shark

Another Tide commercial comes to mind

Another Tide ad I recall dates back to about 1960; in fact it may have replaced "The Cleanest Clean under the Sun." It was a comparison test with glass washer tubs, one of which was washing with Tide, the other with Brand X. The Tide tub had lovely high suds, and the other tub didn't. In fact, that was the jingle: "TIDE keeps on working after other suds have quit."

(I guess it made more sense when people had suds savers on their washing machines or used wringers, but it would be kinda quaint today...)
