Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Great finds!

Very cool Robert. We had that same Hoover Quick Broom growing up! Very noisy, but had lot's of suction! Nice machine; we had the same one, sans the sudsaver, at my house growing up. Too bad about the timer.

Nice use of yiddish, too! :)

Those are some beauties you got there Robert

I like the Eureka vac, but of course I LOVE the Kenmore. I believe I have a spare timer for that washer, and I just had my hands today on two spare gold Roto-Swirls.

Just sent you an e-mail Robert! :-) James is right, this would be a nice consolation after loosing 21 washers this week to thieves.

GREAT finds...

Always take time to have fun!!!you will never regret it!!!I told Donald today, we need to come north for a visit, and go junking with you 2...you have better luck than we have been having!

Oy, that 'Kenmo's a farshlepteh krenk. Just as well to get rid of it.
That Eureka, on the other hand is an ek velt vacuum. Light in weight and not too klotzy to handle.

Nu? What is this "yinglish" night or something?

Oh, and there are dialects of yiddish that contain little german. Galantzaner yiddish popular in Poland and throughout the Pale had lots of Polish and "Rooshin" in it. And before the holocaust, Poland had the largest concentration of Jews in the world. If I listen to it for a while I can start to understand some of it, but I do not recognize as much of it as the more germanic version. Like most Jewish children of my age I grew up hearing all different kinds of yiddish dialects.
(I'll bet Tom can add some interesting observations to this thread.)

My grandparents OBM spoke it thinking us kids wouldn't understand what they were saying.

Whatever.

OMG I would love to have this machine. The interior is in awesome condition. Don't forget you now have 2 of these agitators because I have the same exact one that I am borrowing from you

(wipes brow) PHEWWWW!!!!

Wow Robert, I'm surprised you would toss that one to the curb! I guess you don't like anything newer then..... 1963?

What a beautiful machine! As I was reading the thread and you were going to toss it, I first thought "I'd like to have it" but then was relieved when I saw Gordon spoke up for it!

Robert, just curious, are you going to use the agitator in a different machine, or is it just for your collection?

It's one of the most effective yet gentle agitators ever designed, it would be a shame to not put it to use.

I am late But nice find's Robert I had that eureka in blue once .
Sorry about the washer wow you and Greg could have would have been twins !
I have the same problem with the dial not really the same, but the plastic piece fell apart I was wondering is there any part shop that you would know of, or any suggestions on this dial. I am afraid to even take it off because the darn thing might even get worse here is the dial.
The c part is dropping back and forth aaaah. yuck !

You could probably fit the pieces back together with CA glue. It can be purchased at any hobby shop. People routinely us it to build model airplanes, so it shouldn't be a problem with plastic parts.

Either you will have to glue it back together or find one off of another parts machine Darren, I did check my dial stash for it when you first posted the machine and I don't have that one.

It's just a play-toy Jeff, since it was one of the three agitators of the three washers we had growing up. I'll use it every once in a while for old time sake. I can't say its my favorite.
