Another part of my collection of vintage appliance-related items is old kitchen planning illustrations from home improvement and DIY-type books - I was thumbing through this one last weekend (contemplating how to make the DE306 no longer sound like a sick moose, no doubt) and I found this photo of a U-shaped kitchen. I am really curious if anyone could help ID who made the appliances in the photo. The refrigerator looks kinda Westinghouse to me (I had a 1941 Westy fridge like the one in the photo once upon a time) and I would be almost willing to bet the roaster is a Westy.
But oh, that dishwasher! With a see-through door!! I would love to know who made that model!! Getting one would be amazing, too, but like THAT is going to happen...
Looking forward to seeing what answers come back.

The dishwasher almost looks like they copied our KitchenAid !

That dishwasher also reminded me of Robert's Pink KA. Could be a very early model. Refrigerator looks sort of like my '47 Frigidaire, but may be Westinghouse. The Roaster-oven is Westinghouse for sure; it's like the one my sister's mother-in-law has. Can't see range well enough to tell much about it, but I believe it to be electric.

Like the high backsplash on the sinktop, which looks to be stainless or Monel.

Also noticed the circuit breaker box is on the wall above the roaster. Would be handy to reset after you plug in too many appliances.

<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: large;">That is so wild Robert!</span>

<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: large;">Before I read your post the same thought went through my mind.</span>

<span style="font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: large;">Do you think it is an actual cutout in the machine?  It kind of looks like a picture that they put on the front of the dishwasher to show that it was a dishwasher.</span>

<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: large;">You should sue them!</span>

I'm thinking that's a Westinghouse kitchen--the range is early Westinghouse and the toaster and roaster are, as well. I'm very curious to know about the DW.

That kitchen design reminds me of the one I saw in an old Ma & Pa Kettle movie, where they win a contest and the grand prize is a new house.  Don't remember if Ma had a dishwasher though.

That is the Conover latch on the front of the window-door machine and the Westie in the ad. I also think that the radio on the shelf beneath the RO is a WH. Even the escutcheon between the DW and the door under the sink and the door handle are the same, so I would say it is a Westinghouse-equipped kitchen. There's lots of wasted space above the refrigerator.

This brochure with the wringer washer is the first one I have seen.  I thought they just made the front load automatice and never a wringer.

Well my 2 pennies worth is....

I surmise that the kitchen in the above photo may have well been a display kitchen...and that the reason the window is in the door of the dishwasher is so it could be demonstrated without getting water all over ther kitchen......what do ya think guys???....is it a possibilty? PAT COFFEY

Pat, I'm also thinking that was probably a mock up kitchen; likely somewhere in the Westinghouse manufacturing complex in Mansfield. The diswasher could have been a demo model that wasn't sold to customers. I hope Paul will post some more pics from the book.

What a find one of those Westy wringers would be!  Would love to see a money shot of the interior.  It looks very Kenmore-ish with that full skirt.
