Hi all!

Sorry whether it's since long time I've not been giving any news of me here, but I was so busy with work and study...and as it were not enough the DW broke down...so the very little spare time I could have had I have to spend it doing the washing up.

Now, the problem is with youtube, which I'm using the first time with a project I was aked for work at.

In my town a very important scientific museum called "Museo Craveri" did some years ago a DVD, speaking of its history, of its collection and of its activities of scientific divulgation all around.
I've always converted the DVD movies in 35 short mpeg clip, and I'm uploading them on Youtube nextly.
Now, here I saw often on someone thread or comment the Youtube square attached on the page, through which you can see the video without have been linked to the Youtube website.

Would who is good to do this kindly explain me how to do it?
It's important for me as in the next weeks I've to build the homepage of the Museo Craveri website, and as in the text I found not confortable fot the webuser to be linked in a page for 35 times, would be IMHO to have directly the Youtube square of the video which the text referres to.

In the meanwhile I show the link below which referres to the on-working video uploading. Felice Andreasi is the actor which starred Federico Craveri in the video, explaining how the museum was born and why.

THANKS!
Good Bye
Diomede

PS: Bra, is the name of the city where I live and where the Museum is; in Sept there will be several events, such as Cheese07, and DaCortileACortile... both coordinated by SlowFood. Come to visit and enjoy it!

let me see

I also want to know.

I've tried to embed the youtube video onto my post here like I've seen jason do and some others by copying and pasting the link from youtube, but have not been successful.

How, other than copying and pasting the code provided at youtube, does one accomplish this?

Have I understood the question correctly?

Bob

maybe i can help a little....

you want to embed the frame into a webpage. you will see that youtube provides the info (code? html?) in the upper right hand corner in a box. i hope this helps a little. i am not an expert on this.

btw, the embed code code looks like this...

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value=""></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

well, the code didnt show up. but its there in the upper right hand corner of the individual video page on youtube. the word you are looking for is "embed"

embed

That much I know already.
And I've tried copy and paste into a thread here and that alone is not enough.
What am I missing?

just the quotes, ma'am

ya know...I had a feeling those little " were the issue.

Thanks. I'll try it.

<object width=425 height=350><param name=movie value=></param><param name=wmode value=transparent></param><embed src= type=application/x-shockwave-flash wmode=transparent width=425 height=350></embed></object>

the race is on

and it looks like heartache...and the winner loses all.

twang twang twang twang...

<object width=425 height=350><param name=movie value=></param><param name=wmode value=transparent></param><embed src= type=application/x-shockwave-flash wmode=transparent width=425 height=350></embed></object>

<object width=425 height=350><param name=movie value="></param><param name=wmode value=transparent></param><embed src= type=application/x-shockwave-flash wmode=transparent width=425 height=350></embed></object>

brett

OMG that's the funniest thing I've seen this year.

Is this a reaction you're feeling perhaps induced by the thin sound of a crystal pickup or 2-track tape?

It's cool that's how it works, Jason, but can you tell me WHY that's so? Also do you have to remove ALL the " everywhere they appear, because there are as you know several occassions of them in the code.

Thanks again and ha ha ha ha ha ha.

<object width=425 height=350><param name=movie value=></param><param name=wmode value=transparent></param><embed src= type=application/x-shockwave-flash wmode=transparent width=425 height=350></embed></object>

Bob. I'm not sure the exact reason but it has something to do with the way this website processes it. Also it doesn't like it when you put "'s in the Subject Drift.

Let's try it. Isn't that Ginny Roblicki from One Day at a Time in this commercial?

Thanks.

<object width=425 height=350><param name=movie value=></param><param name=wmode value=transparent></param><embed src= type=application/x-shockwave-flash wmode=transparent width=425 height=350></embed></object>

It worked, sort of. When the video ends, I get the option of choosing a bunch of other videos. Why did that happen?

Here's what I did.

1) Copied the entire code in the 'embed' line on the YouTube video.
2) Pasted it into into the message box above. It came up as the code printed out.
3) As per Jason's instructions, I removed all the quotation marks from the code.
4) I pressed Post this to Discuss-O-Mat and it popped up as a video!

Are you guys doing it a different way? I'm using an iMac, by the way.

THANKS! :-)))

I have to thank you all my very good friends...your prompts have been so useful for the job I've to do...THANKS all AGAIN!

Here you are the link to the list of the video I've uploaded yesterday at work (sorry but the speaking voice is in Italian). Now Monday morning I'll go ahead to upload the following ones and when I'll have finished I'll start to build the website pages with the Youtube square...as you taught me you do!

<object width=425 height=350><param name=movie value=></param><param name=wmode value=transparent></param><embed src= type=application/x-shockwave-flash wmode=transparent width=425 height=350></embed></object>

<object width=425 height=350><param name=movie value=></param><param name=wmode value=transparent></param><embed src= type=application/x-shockwave-flash wmode=transparent width=425 height=350></embed></object>
