I got this loooong time ago. This was when Patton was made in New Haven In, before the vultures at Rival bought them out and moved to Missouri before succumbing to another buyout that resulted in production being moved to...........China.

The motor is from MCMillian electric, Woodville, Wisc and is a 4 pole PSC with front and rear oil ports.

The fan still works, still blows up a storm.

It cost as mint back in the day and like Curtis Mathes once said in their advertising, darn well worth it.

Also in the vid is my commentary. Take it for what it is worth.

WOW!!!I have the 20" version of this fan bought at Sears in Manassas, Va at that time.Mine is used EVERYDAY-I HAVE to use a fan--not only for noise-but I like it COLD in my bedroom to sleep.I just recently used my Kirby in the blower mode to blow the dust out of mine.I have another fan similar to this in another part of the house.Beleive it or not-my fan hasn't been lubed for all of that time-will have to lube it.these are GREAT fans and its too bad they are now built in China.Have heard of the Chinese ones failing within a few years of use.Remember in there heyday Patten made fans and blowers.

patton fan

seems patton used different motor brands at different times;a 1983 I fixed had a Westinghouse, while a 1990 had a Korean motor-can't remember if it was Samsung or goldstar(LG).I have a ~1970 patton fan;chrome guard/3 round shaped natural aluminum blades(needs repair, worn bushings in the westy motor)

Lakewood also used

McMillian motors.

The P25 box fan was the best example of this.
