Got a big block of Kleenex tissues on special at Costco over the weekend.

But I'm pretty disappointed with the quality. Kleenex is supposed to be #1, but these things smell bad. A sort of burnt odor. Thinking of taking them back with explanation.

Got some mini-size Kirkland tissues at the same time. These don't have an offensive aroma.

Anyone else got stinky Kleenex?

Ah, I wish they still made Puffs in the original scent. I don't like the Puffs with all that grease on them. Yuck.
I have also noticed that Kleenex seems to be getting thinner these days as the price per box has increased.

Rich: I purchased this 10-pack of Kleenex last weekend at Sam's Club in Mankato, MN.

Curious about the burnt-odor issue, I opened a box only moments ago to find....absolutely no off-smells; not on the tissue, the plastic window, the box, or the plastic wrap enclosing the bundle of boxes. I did, however, laugh out loud at how ridiculous I must have looked!

Wonder if your Kleenex could have been exposed to smoke at some point during manufacture or warehousing?

I'd like to know........

whatever happened to the Man Size tissues that Kleenex made?

I absolutely hate these small size ones that I can see thru !

I have to grab 2 or 3 at a time when I sneeze or I just blow a hole thru just using 1.

I've reverted back to just using handkerchiefs.

Yes I have had Kleenex with odors before, but it was more of an egg smell. It just varies with the box though. I loved the oversized Kleenex, there is one grocery store around here that carries them, and that is the only place I have ever seen them.

Butch have you tried the Tempo tissues they are triple ply made in Germany but have purchased then all over the USA.

No, I've never heard of that brand. I'll have to look the next time I go shopping. Thanks for the heads up !

Most likely sulphuric acid residue that leached into the paper in manufacure. Anyone ever smeelled a paper mill? We have an International paper plant here and it smells sometimes.

I went to school in northern Louisiana and I am well familiar with the smell of a paper mill. To me it kinds smells like old oatmeal with a hint of acid.
In fact if you fly over an area where there are several the cabin of your aircraft will smell like a paper mill until you clear the area. The Bogalousa, La. area is well known for this when you are departing New Orleans (MSY).

Yeah, I guess it's sort of a stale egg odor.

Rather than go through the hassle of returning the block of tissue boxes (which fairly exploded out of their cello wrapping anyway), I've decided to do a Bill Clinton - not to inhale when using them.

No, not the other thing.
