Finally!!! FINALLY!!!!!

Avocado fans rejoice! The "Classic Appliances" show of the 70s is coming out on DVD! OMG I can't believe it's actually true! After years of wishing and hoping and praying, The Brady's are finally coming home.

Also, for us 70s freaks, Fat Albert is out and The Patridge Family is coming soon. C'mon get happy and relive your childhood.

Now let's start chanting for the first season of CHiPs.

The Golden Girls have also recently come out on DVD.

For Dorothy, Rose, Blanche and Sophia... I'd do anything :)

Hi Jason, funny I just was looking at that exact page on www.tvshowsondvd.com earlier in the day thinking, yay the Brady Bunch release is coming out soon. Also they are hinting at the 1st season of Bewitched being released in June before the "Bewitched" movie come out in July.

One of my favorite shows of all times is The Mothers-In-Law. Unfortunately it is not scheduled for release on DVD as the copyright holders are not releasing it, at least anytime soon
:(

Does anyone remember this short lived show from the late 1960's? I was unusually funny, fortunately I have 18 out of the 53 episodes on tape.

I was pretty small, but I remember watching it with my mom and liking it.

Great news about the Bradys too Jason! Those were good days.

I was a Golden Girls fan too and still catch an occasional espisode on cable. Probably one of it not the last prime time Saturday night show that was really good. There was a time when Saturday night TV was a ritual for me, esp. in Bob Newhart, MTM and Carol Burnett days.

Is MTM available on DVDs?

Other favorites of mine at that time were "Julia", "That Girl" and "Family Affair", in addition to the things like I Dream of Jeannie and Bewitched that we all know and love.

The Mothers In Law!

Only barely remember one episode of that series: IIRC it was when the daughter was having her baby and the grand-parents to be were NOT allowed into Labour and Delivery. Of course the husbands took it in stride and went off, but Eve and Kay were not so easily put off. To make matters funnier the desk nurse was Alice Ghostley who twarted every attmept by the "MIL" to get past those doors.

Funniest moments? MIL's are pacing back and forth in front of nurse Ghostely's desk, for which they apologise after awhile. Nurse G shoots back, "oh it's no problem I took a dramamine"

Yes, I do remember the MOthers-In_Law. Scott you & I have very similar tv entertainment tastes from way back yonder. Family Affair WOOOF!!!

Mother's-In-Law

Yep, it was produced by Desi Arnaz. One of the husbands was originally played by Roger C. Carmel, but he was replaced with Richard Deacon (who was Gay, by the way) when Roger wouldn't go along with a requested salary reduction that was needed to keep the show on the air.

Ah, Family Affair. Anybody remember Sebastian Cabot when he was on a show called "Checkmate" in the early 60's?

I can honestly say I've never seen the Mothers In Law. Yay for Bewitched coming out on DVD. I want that one too.

If you follow the links to the prior news reports. This is the 1st of 4 sets. The infamous Bobby washer episode "Law and Disorder" is Season 4 so we have to wait before we can see those gorgeous 1973 avocado Whirlpools.

Now I'm holding on for March 1st. Best Buy here I come!

I BARELY remember Family Affair. I must've been really young and I think I saw it in reruns.

retrotv

Who could forget Buffy, Jody, Sissy, and Mr. French! It was my childhood dream to live in a penthouse like that! I could have had Brian Keith wrapped around my finger and be up to my eyeballs in toys!

Back to the 70`s

I`ve been in the 70s today. Polishing my moms fiberglass bath/shower in "gorgeous Avocado" no less. Got it really shiny and boy was she happy! My dad is a retired national gaurd and we occasionally go to a base to get stuff and one day I found these dvd`s for 5.99. All old movies. Heres the link.I found some I couldnt get anywhere else and they hav a new release section too.

I loved the "Mothers in law" show. It was Kaye Ballard and Eve Arden and I think Debra Walley was the daughter, but cannot remember who the son was. The married kids lived the the garage.

I watched family affair also, and I would not mind having Mr Frenshes job either. I do not recall them ever showing the Kitchen on that show.

My favorite shows of the that era were the medical ones, "Marcus Welby", "Medical Center", and "Emergency" and the early cooking shows, "Galloping Gourmet" and "The French Chef" Always liked James Brolin, Chad Everett, and Kevin Tiegh.

tv show memories

How about Adam-12 and the Mod Squad? Also on Friday nights we had a British invasion with The Avengers and The Tom Jones Show. It was sponsored by Yardley of London. You couldn't pull my mom away from the tv when Tom Jones was on.

Did anyone watch Get Smart with Don Adams and Barbara Feldon? During our Saturday shopping excursions downtown, my sister and I would "talk" into our wristwatches and pretend we were special agents. I'll bet most people thought we were just crazy kids! "Sorry about that Chief".

I used to also watch Graham Kerr, the Galloping Gourmet. He was hilarious. He used to sip wine as he cooked. I'm sure that by the end of the show he was more than just a little tipsy.

Retromom, I was crazy about the Avengers, The Man from Uncle, Get Smart and The Invaders. We also loved FBI and Red Skelton. But best of all when I was 8 or 9 Batman and the Green Hornet came out. Wow that was the most. My mom would have to beat me away from the TV to do my homework!
