Hey all,
wasnt too sure where to post this but judging by how it looks I think it belongs here. Just browsing ebay and I saw this machine, looks pretty interesting, I had no idea that zanussi made a top loading washer during this period (light grey facias with soft white plastics) Im rather curious about it. Was it an exclusive model? anyone know what year it was from?

Zanussi Toploader

Can't be certain (without digging out the handbook), but looks like the last washer my mother had... If it is the same, I have a motor, timer, motor control board, and handbook all lying around (somewhere)...

All best

I knew two people who had this exact model

I was always fascinated but so frustrated you couldn't watch them!

I would presume they date from about 1991-1993, I think they were part of the standard lineup.

I seem to recall this top loader was launched alongside their slim-depth (42cm) 9lb load washing machine to cater for the "awkward space" market - i.e. narrow gaps or shallow worktops (bearing in mind quite a few people would still have had 50cm deep units in their kitchens then).

I remember them being on a display plinth in a local store at one point - even with their own dedicated saleswoman it seemed (well, on that Saturday afternoon anyway)! It was definitely the early 1990s and I'm pretty certain they were in the main brochure of the time.

I'm not sure if these pre-dated the Studio Compact machines Zanuusi did; the top loader didn't run for long but they did sell the slim-depth machines in various successive ranges for quite some period.

Checked.....

Yes, it is the TJ1043 for which I have the bits.... The Handbook includes the Installation Instruction Leaflet, also the 'Service and Spares' list.

The 'Bill of Sale' is dated January 1993, when it was purchased for £450.00 from Comet/Apollo2000.

If a member buys this machine and would like the bits I have (or would like to scan the handbook for the 'archive'), please reply to this post.

All best

The slimline top-loaders are very popular here in Hungary but I don't think I've seen one quite like that. Here they mostly live in the bathroom.
