Another addition to the collection is this 1982 Zanussi Z919T Washcraft

1000rpm

In amazing condition although a couple of easily ironable faults.

Bearings have started to go so this will be Zanussi bearing change no.2. So glad we know what to do what with the Liberators bearings being done a few months ago.

Also the screw that fastens to dial to the timer is rather loose - so much so that the "Pull On Push Off" mechanism wont work properly.

Does anyone have any idea how to remove the dial from the fascia allowing me to tighten the screw inside to fix the timer properly?

Pics to follow

Excuse the suds in the pic above, Marks and Spencers Biological powder likes to froth up in this machine.

40 degrees delicate wash, in the cool down phase,

hi aquarius1984,

Nice looking machine.
Had a job a few months ago to repair the outer dial cover and the inner cam (the plastic teeth brake off the inner cam).
Easy one I thought but the outer dial is now obsolete with Distriparts, I tried ringing around nearly ever Service Force centre in the country until I found a center that had one in stock in the warehouse!. Im sure I got the last one in the country Im affraid.

If your going to take the dial to pieces be carefull!

Bloody gorgeous!
You guys have an awesome collection. i say it everytime!

Good luck with the dial guys. Just beeeee careful!! (doing my best mothering impression!!) lol

dont worry guys.

if the dial thing looks too difficult (and it does look like it would be a major thing to take apart) then it will be left as it is, until the day that we have the parts and expertese to deal with it confidently.

the machine is still easy to operate , but just requires a bit of jiggling to get the on/off mechanism to mesh.
nothing major - just an irritation.

we will keep our eyes peeled for spares bits and bobs and any advice, on top of the above, would be gratefully received.

just before i pop off for the night and as this is a Washcraft thread, here we find a FL800 on ebay!

10hrs left.

I asume that this a crossover machine, what with it being prefixed 'FL' rather than 'Z'?

On the lookout for pone of these now - a Z930 Sensor!

Chrome door dryers do appear to be very rare. indeed, the vast majority of Z-series dryer pics i possess tend to be black door trimmed.

still trying to fathom the zanussi z-series model numbering.
strange how they mix the washers and dryers amongst one another, with seemingly no real strategy behind it.

Zanussi - The Appliance of Science

Nice find guys, great machines, very quiet with those big induction motors, those programme controls where one of the most difficult to use I thought, very stiff and so small to grip...but being small caused another set of problems, because you could grip it by wrapping your hand around it, many people used to much force and broke the ratchets!!

Will look stunning with the matching dryer on top, good luck with the hunt!!

The FL800

Hey Guys

If it has actually been in Gravesend it would have had a new home by now :(.

Paul- it must indeed be a crossover- possibly one of the 1st series of FL machines?- it would be interesting to know if it uses a carbon brush motor as opposed to the induction Washcraft type.

Congrats on the Z919T by the way- can I just ask why you had a vent hose in the drum lol ;).

Our local rip off British Heart foundation actually had a brown/black trim Washcraft dryer in at the mo- im not gonna pay £85 for it though!!!!!
