I'm not too fond of the New Tide original smell. To me, it smells like straight up cleaning chemicals, rather than the floral and fruity notes it claims to provide.
Maybe that's how it smells now. I don't like the New Downy April Fresh scent either. It smells like hair spray. That's where I differ. I like the Tide how it used to smell in the seventies and eighties. Tide shouldn't be smelling all fruity and floral... Yuck
That is why I switched to Persil and Snuggle. The worst offender that did it for me was the tide power pods +odor+oxi. They had a disgusting smell.I like the smell of Tide Professional. It deodorizes and it leaves a very light chemical scent at the end of the cycle. 1 extra rinse and that light scent is gone. The clothes and towels smell neutral. No fishy smells, no metallic smells, no chemical smells, no cheap perfume smells, no hair spray smells, no flowers on steroids smells, no bleach smells, no burnt smell, no sterile smells, nada. Just clean.
I hear ya on the smell stuff.I'm not too fond of the New Tide original smell. To me, it smells like straight up cleaning chemicals, rather than the floral and fruity notes it claims to provide.
I prefer the scent of Persil. It is much more pleasant and masculin to me. The advanced clean has a citrus scent which I enjoy.I hear ya on the smell stuff.
I suppose that different people like different odors, it's human nature of course, but chemical odors do tend to annoy me.
The same goes for flavoring of products.
I'd sure with that Pepsi would go back permanantly to their smoother tasting original "real sugar" Pepsi, instead of using that high fructose corn syrup.
And have you all noticed?....... since these various products went though scent changes, and some of them not lasting like previously, it's interesting that several "laundry scent boosters" have appeared on the market..... Hmm...I agree I hate the new original scent. It’s not very good. The way it smelled before they changed it last was good, but was even better before in the 2000s. Everything was better in the 2000s, detergents, appliances, cars, ect
Gee. I wonder why?And have you all noticed?....... since these various products went though scent changes, and some of them not lasting like previously, it's interesting that several "laundry scent boosters" have appeared on the market..... Hmm...
Hint: Marketing Tactics.
P&G just can't leave well enough alone.I agree I hate the new original scent. It’s not very good. The way it smelled before they changed it last was good, but was even better before in the 2000s. Everything was better in the 2000s, detergents, appliances, cars, ect
I'd rather have a strong scent that's not smelling like chemicals.Someone else mentioned that the reason for all the scent changes could be due to removal of carcinogenic compounds and the scent was changed as a way to cover up that up. Though, the new Spring Meadow scent is not bad, but very strong.
Greed, Marketing..... to gain more money from the public.Gee. I wonder why?
