New Classic Vintage Osterizer Blender

Are these anything like the vintage Osterizers of the 80s and 90s? Are they any good or worth buying? Do they use the original multi tapped motor design or have they also migrated to electronics? Obviously they switched to a plastic jar, however I am unsure what else if anything has changed.

Like many products sold these days its probably designed and manufactured as cheaply as possible with inferior components.
You should hit some estate sales, I've seen lots of low mileage vintage blenders for sale.

I have a number of old beehive Osters, you can find them at estate sales and auctions for $5-$25. Clean it up and lube it, and it'll probably outlast 6 new ones... I'm sure the current models use electronics, an $0.85 board is easier and cheaper than separate windings and the associated wiring. Even the old ones were pretty much built "as cheaply as possible", but it seems the definition of that, and consumers inured to the Wal-Mart attitude of buy it cheap and throw it away every year or two have changed the landscape a bit.

Do you know of any Blender that will last? Like the Speed Queen or Maytag Dependable Care of blenders? I want one that will last. I don't like buying anything disposable.

I thought VitaMix is supposed to be a commercial version of a blender for the home. Blendtec is supposed to be too, but I remember Consumer Reports said they had a bad repair record.

Since were on the subject, which vintage blenders are worth buying at estate sales?
I see them often and it would be nice to have one but I don't know much about them, most are Oster, some Waring or other brands.
