I was messaging the person who was selling it. He said he’s had it up for sale for about 5 years. One person was possibly going to get it then Covid happened. He told me he was probably going to get rid of it soon! I would totally grab it if it was closer (and I didn’t have one of my own)

Ok, so the seller has said it is going to scrap in a couple weeks so I’ve decided to bite the bullet and attempt to get a courier to get it over to me.

Anyone have any experience doing this?

Phone removalists near the seller and near you, and ask them. Ask about backloading - when a truck is returning home after a job, they can carry stuff home on the return trip and often give a discount.
We sent a front loader from Melbourne to my sister when she was in Alice Springs, it was over 20 years ago so I don't remember much, but the price was OK and it got there in one piece.

I’ll give that a shot, are there any removalists that have a good reputation? Don’t want this to be damaged in transport!

Honestly, I’ve had quite a bit of experience using different companies to move things, I have used pack and send, I have used“truckit.net“ and I have used Airtasker when the quotes from the other two previously were too high for my liking, there’s really been no damage with really anything of mine as some of my things have been quite rusted out, but I think your stuff should be fine I guess as long as it’s all strapped down,
By the way that machine I wanted to get for awhile but I haven’t been wanting to pull the trigger on it, I’m very glad you’re able to get it and I’d love to one day see it and experience the joy of using it one day if you’re open to Washins
