Chet what exactly is wrong with this microwave?

In some cases, you can buy the two parts together. You can also buy them separately. Which one do you need?

Door switches are virtually universal and very readily available. They can’t both be bad again. What part is broken on this microwave? Are you actually trying to fix it?

Rather than just taking up, everybody’s time, pondering things that aren’t broken

I’m happy to help but what’s wrong with the microwave? What part is actually bad ?

Asking the part numbers of four items three of which are NLA isn't taking up "everybody's time"

The microwave needs a new primary interlock as the magnetron fan would come on with the door opened. Eventually the microwave (fan, turntable and cooking) simultaneously became intermittent and then stopped working altogether.

Second issue the display is very dim sometimes fading out altogether when buttons are depressed. It comes back and does keep time when set.

So the main culprits are one door switch and the main control board.

If I can get the fascia (for a new look) in addition to the control board that would be an added bonus. Otherwise a micro switch and main control to get the oven working again.

I can diagnose, the issue is the parts keep ringing up as NLA or discontinued by the manufacturer.

Have you gone over the board for cold solder? That and filter caps are often the only problem...

I have not. Just want to order a new one but I keep running into NLA. How GE can do this for only a 15 year old oven is beyond me.
Ok, this is something to consider....
Parts warehouses these days are not what they used to be.
In the "old days" they stocked parts for several decades or more.
However, things like costs to keep a large warehouse these days are not something that manufacturers want to deal with, (upkeep, overhead, employee salaries, etc) PLUS, limiting stock to a much shorter time saves them money, AND forces the consumer to purchase something "new" - a slick way that boosts corporate revenue, another "greed driven" legal way to make money.
They ain't making money for a $25 dollar part, when they can get much more for a new sale.

The old way business was conducted based upon quality and reputation is gone for the most part. Most of these companies are run by 3-5 year executives, who care only about justifying a monsterous salary and bonus package, grab it and trot off to the next victims. I actually think GE carrying parts for a 14 year old microwave is somewhat reasonable in today's world. Everybody wants the fewest SKUs to keep after, the lowest inventory to pay taxes on, the lowest overhead and the highest margin. Any company that's not paying attention to that is courting disaster. Add to that, the departure of employees with the memory of past mistakes, being replaced by fresh, young talent armed with education but little experience, and you have messes like GM and their engine issues, transmission issues, Buicks made in China, and no good way forward.

Replacement parts were made available 40, 50, 60 years ago when appliances were so much more robust and reliable, servicers stocked them, and kept busy with calls .... and collectors covet those parts nowadays.
