Hi everyone! I haven't been on very much in the last four years or so, just been busy.
Lats month my 12 year old freezer went out for the third time - this time it was the compressor (last two times were the fan) so to the curb it went.
I'm really disappointed in the longevity of new...
Reactor gave some good advice. If all else fails and shipping isn't horrible there is a guy here in the states who specializes in repairing these - Tim's Toasters:

Solved my own question: After studying the parts diagrams there is no circuit board so this became a simple voltmeter issue. There is constant voltage to the fan but it is not working so that is the bad part. Should have it fixed tomorrow unless no one local has the part.
I watch Kent Rollins all the time and I even occasionally build a "campfire" in the back yard to cook with my Dutch ovens. Most of the time I do Dutch oven stuff inside in my regular oven.
At this point I mainly cook on cast iron. I have a few carbon steel skillets and woks plus some stainless...
I have a 14 year old Whirlpool model EVL165NXRQ04 convertible fridge/freezer. It stopped cooling the other day. The compressor is running. I took the evaporator cover off to check the fan - not running. When I unplug the freezer and plug it back in the fan spins very briefly then stops.
I'm...
Just a quick update. The chrome came back from Salt Lake Chrome and I am amazed! The stamped sheet metal parts that had heavy surface rust look brand now with no craters. I'll post pics later, pretty busy right now and I haven't done much with the stove lately.
Cool Fridge.
I'm definitely not a refrigeration expert but a few things to check - and you might need to have a repairman come out for this:
1. Plugged capillary tube?
2. Low Charge? Expansion valve may still get cold but not enough cooling to cool the fridge.
3. Is there a condenser cooling...
Rebuilt thermostats arrived this week. Waiting for the chrome to be finished. The stove is stripped down so all I need to do is move it out of the garage, do some cleaning, and move it into the house and start the assembly process. Oh, and figure out the best way to repair/replace the damaged...
I'm really glad you and your pets are OK. Even though I like vintage stuff there are many positives to modern technology. I just installed some Arlo security cameras that sends me alerts and that I can check using my cell phone. Ain't living in the future great?
Alas, no updates. I haven't made any headway on any projects for the past several years. Starting to get back to work on them now, the Roper Town & Country Stove is in progress and this Kelvinator will be next as a companion to it.
I was thinking they were meant to amplify the radiant/ infrared heat. The pins are stainless and are drilled and fitted. I taped them off when I painted the burner. Roper called this the Glo-Broiler.
