1977 Lady Kenmore washer control panel

Last Call Sadly, It seems people already have the machines and collections they want... and then some. or like me, aren't collecting. I had to throw the late 70s GE washer console I offered in Spring 2012. That went to scrap metal recycle. A few years back in 2010, I had a 1958ish Lady...

1977 Lady Kenmore washer control panel

It's not a Lady of 78 or 79 because we had the first electronic Ladys then. BTW- I have the lid and triple dispenser cover in Coffee brown, which is what the color this washer was. A color that was rare after 1982, and I don't believe available in many models of KMs after that point. ...

SAVE THIS SOMEONE!!! Yellow GE Metal Kitchen Unit

I like the yellow, and the P~I~N~K. But, I would be afraid to turn the garbage disposal on for fear of getting water in the switch, and then, ZZZZZ-ZZZ, the whole friggin thing- counters, cabinets, sink, appliances- would be live. Don't get me wrong, I like metal cabinets, but with a...

1977 Lady Kenmore washer control panel

I wish I had the model # tag from the washer. I don't know how he does it but it is awesomeness. Gordon would be able to tell us not only the exact time it was manufactured, but also the age, height, weight, ethnicitiy, sexual prolivities, and political leanings of the person who...

I think the two responses before this one, MUST be right.

1977 Lady Kenmore washer control panel

For what it's worth... It came from the family of the deceased elderly couple that purchased it new in NE Connecticut. When I bought it in 2005, the son had it stowed in his attached garage with all the other posessions of his parents. I doubt it has seen much useage.

    FilterFlo suds model

Actually, compressor based products, such as refrigerators, ACs, dehumidifiers, etc. Surge much more when they start up. For example: the first 1/2 second of a washer starting will surge 2 - 3 times the normal wattage. So a washer that uses 250 watts when operating will draw 750 watts its...

    Mid-century enthusiasts

"... little boxes, on a hillside, little boxes made of ticky-tacky, ..." I think that was referring to Levittown style, and, if we were listening and aware, was an early warning of what would come, if left uncontested. The Gobbler- I know they were doing some roof repairs there this summer...

    Kenmore DW

As nice as those consoles LOOK, IMO, they were not easy to maintain. The wood grain and that white/metalic strip was easily scratched and just from daily use of opening/closing the door, it would wear off. If you look at the picture above, a brand new machine supposedly, you can already see...

    Favorite Movie or TV Kitchen

I can see where they would switch out Roseannes W&D. Maytag (like Kenmore, WP, & GE) was too mainstream. It would have detracted from here character. That would explain their other appliances choices, as well.

    Vintage Food Advertisements: Part Five

Exemplary work, as usual Louie. Most of these products are still available. The common thread from these type companies was either sugar or salt in a highly processed form. Good and fun memories abound, even for me.
