    Spiralization...

I have the OXO full size spiralizer and LOVE it. I've actually given it to a couple of friends for a "test drive" and they ended up buying their own. Roasted spiralized beets are fantastic, and surprisingly close in texture to regular pasta. Sweet potatoes tend to break as you cook them and...

as any us and canadien members notice on there store local shelves the persil laundry detergent

It's currently available at Fortinos, Loblaws, Longos and Costco. It should become available at Walmart by mid-March and at many other grocery and drug stores in April. Their Canadian website should launch next week. http://olgaslaundry.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Persil-Ad-Loblaws.jpg

as any us and canadien members notice on there store local shelves the persil laundry detergent

It actually just launched in Canada last week. They don't have the Sensitive or Pacs available, but do have a Canada-only Coldwater version.

    a Roomba in the house

The Roomba absolutely does have suction - we actually had the vacuum part break a couple of months after purchasing, so we got to compare suction power vs sweeping power. It still ran, and all the sweeping parts were working, but the difference in the amount of dust/dog hair was incredible. The...

    Whatsapp/Smartphones

I prefer Viber to WhatsApp, but use them both (family and friends all over the world). WhatsApp is a little clunky for me in terms of interface.

Russia Removing Foreign Detergents from Store Shelves

Emerging markets are huge for corporations. The market share of P&G in Russia in 2008 was two billion US dollars, just to give you an idea of the amounts they'd have to recoup in other countries to reach their annual business goals.

Russia Removing Foreign Detergents from Store Shelves

Ironically, in situations like modern-day Russia, the worse it gets for the people the better it is for Putin. His approval rating is at 86% currently - when was the last time you saw numbers like that in a first world democracy? Propaganda is an effective tool, and what you have right now in...

    Eco cleaning products

It was actually the other way around: Ecover bought Method. Which kind of surprised me, because I think of Method as one of those "greenwashing" companies, like Caldrea and Mrs Meyers (those scents...), while Ecover is a brand I trust a whole lot more. Speaking of Ecover, their dishwasher tabs...

    Eco cleaning products

I'm a "green home" kind of person and have replaced 99% of conventional cleaning products with a "green" version. I have never been a big bleach user, but now only keep it in a spray bottle for tub surround grout and hot tub nozzles that are prone to getting moldy. Unfortunately no greener...

    What foods do you DESPISE!

I think the only two foods that I can't tolerate (i.e. will throw up if forced to take a bite) are goat and sheep cheese. No idea why, but it's not an intellectual "I tasted and didn't like it" kind of thing, it's a very strong physical reaction. I'm actually sad about that - my husband and I...

    CR Test Results and Persil

No wonder the pearls scored lower if they used just cold water... But I'm happy that P&G finally have some competition! Usually the consumer wins when that happens. :)

Hey Stan! About That "Stinky" Persil

I'm a little late to the discussion, but I've found the MieleCare powders to be much less strongly scented than the Megaperls. They also have a Sensitive powder in the lineup - I sniffed the box at my local retailer and it seemed pretty faint. I've also heard good things about the Ecover powder...

    Fabric Softeners -

I've actually started using more softener recently, and have even experimented with adding a tiny bit in my towel loads to see if it will have any effect. My favorite is definitely Vernel Sensitiv - I use about half of what they recommend as the minimal dosage and get no added scent, but...

    Stainless Steel!!

We have all stainless appliances, and I have never quite understood the complaint about fingerprints and keeping them clean. Maybe we got lucky with a quality finish, but we have zero issues with fingerprints/dog nose prints, and the fridge and dishwasher are virtually maintenance-free while the...

    Deodorizing a Miele vacume...

After changing all the filters you can sprinkle some baking soda on the floor and vacuum it up - that usually helps with the pet smells.
