The lights are at the top, in the back on each side, plus an extra light in front of the ice maker. When it's plugged in, everything appears to work but it won't get cold. I can supply better pics if somebody is interested in this.
This has been my daily driver fridge for 15 years. I bought this fridge from the original owner. It stopped cooling on 10/30. Lights, fan, compressor all appear to be working but it's not cooling at all. It isn't perfect but it was still functional until 10/30. I don't how to work on...
The wife said that it's time for these to go. This Lady Kenmore set has been my daily drivers for about ten years and I have four kids. I've done tons of work to them. I have lots of pics of the work that I've done. If you are seriously interested I will send you every pic I have to include the...
Hey all,
I am wanting to swap out the springs on my basket drive (part #366659) but I don't want to destroy it by not knowing what I am doing. My Kenmore washer, 1072693430, is working okay now that I have installed the old basket drive back into the machine. I tried installing a new one...
Thanks Gordon. So how do you go about swapping the springs out on a basket drive? Are there any tricks-of-the-trade that make things easier? I loosened up the set screw that holds the brake guide in place but it won't budge. I am not sure how to get that wire that's holding things together...
There is a basket drive (383925) on ebay right now. He's asking $149 plus shipping. That's a little rich for my blood right now with Christmas on the way. There a few other basket drives on ebay as well with part numbers that are close to 383925 such as 383926, etc. but close only counts in...
Thank you guys. No, I haven't entertained the idea of swapping springs. It seems like it would be a pain in the butt to do that. I was thinking that you need a specific tool for that job. Is swapping out springs easier than I think it is?
Also, thanks for the other part number Gordon. I...
Anybody know if I can substitute a basket drive with a different part number for the basket drive that originally came on my washer (original basket drive part number is 366659)?
I see several for sale on ebay but I am not sure if those have a long enough tube or if the springs are strong...
Just for grins:) These are my other appliances that I keep in running condition. Yes, I think avocado is beautiful. If they made new appliances in these colors I would be tempted to try them out. But, they don't so, I repair my old appliances and keep them running. At least, for as long as I...
She's all put back together and running just like she was delivered from the Sears catalog. I couldn't be happier with how the installation of the new centerpost bearings and seals turned out. Check out the pics of her running at full speed. I have been unbelievably lucky in finding the...
So, the new centerpost bearings and seals are in. I can't imagine doing this job without the proper tools. The bearing puller and bearing installer made the job go smoothly. The seals and bearing coated in turbine oil (hydraulic oil). The bottom top seal cavity filled with approximately 1/8...
Those water marks went away after I cleaned the shaft and took off the clear tape holding the instructions on. The guy I bought it from said it was new old stock. The inside of the tube looks new as well. Either way it's new to me.
I am posting these two pictures for the benefit of someone else who might be trying to install new bearings into their centerpost. My washer is a Kenmore #11072693430 but these instruction apply to more models than mine.
The bearing removal tool, bearing installation tool and seal installer...
