    Vintage Appliance Advertisements: Part Twenty-nine

Orth., Lon., and S. Fil. It's a record compensator or equalizer with 4 choices. I think they would correspond to L.P. for Columbia records, ORTH for RCA Victor, LON for Decca, and S.FIL. for a shelf filter with a different low frequency response.

Do plain old knee length black tube socks not exist anymore?

Plain old tube socks have become very hard to find. I prefer them too, and found some at Ollie's Bargain Outlet a while back. If you have an Ollie's nearby you might try there.

    REQUIEM FOR A MICROWAVE OVEN?

Yes I think it might be repairable One day about 22 years ago my small Kenmore microwave went POOF when I hit the start button. I really doubted whether I could repair it, but I opened it up just to have a look, and noticed a broken wire. I reattached the wire and it's been doing fine ever...

Dove for Dishes Just found out this summer, when I went to buy some, that you can't get "Dove for Dishes" anymore. My last bottle lasted such a long time because I used it only for cleaning phonograph records, the vinyl ones not the older shellac discs. I couldn't find anything that looked...
