Adapting a drain hose for a vintage Frigidaire

Original Equipment If my memory serves me correct, the WO-65 drain hoses were much smaller in diameter. They also had a metal gooseneck adapter that fit in the end of the hose......very much like the General Electric style that was used for many years on most models. Much nicer than the flimsy...

your fave washer of ALL time

eenie meenie......... 1. Aunt Shirley's 1952 Frigidaire in the kitchen 2. Aunt Betty's 1964 Hotpoint Silouhette 16 with the fountain filter. Lots of interesting cycle changes in this baby. Loved to watch the overflow rinse with the fountain filter splashing in the pan and the drain hose...

Wizardry The lid looks like Kenmore. I love the clock.........perhaps you could use the clock to delay the wash (for soaking)? They should have put a pushbutton AM radio right in the center. What an awesome pair. Neal

    FRIGIDAIRE WO-65 ON EBAY!!!!!

I am ready to do a mapquest from Detroit Area to Bound Brook, NewJersey. This one is too good to be true. I can just hear that water striking that cabinet just seconds into the spin......OMG!!!

    POD 5/1/05 Commercial 1-18s

Detroit Laundromats In the Detroit area, there were plenty of laundromats under the banner of "Quick Clean." They featured Fridgidaires. It was a symphony of pulsating.....and those lovely timers chirping all over the laundromat. As a youngster, on the way to the Dairy Queen, I just had to stop...

    TODAY'S FIND!!!

Awesome!!! What a find. We had the EXACT same washer that replaced a frog-eyed Kenmore. Although, I swear we got the washer in 1961, it might have been a model for 1962!!! The control panel took me 40 some years back....what the mind forgets.....but soon remembers again......thank YOU. I...

    Quintessential Kenmore Wash Action

Whirlpool Vs. Kenmore I don't know if I remember this well.......but it seemed like just before that glorious shifting sound between neutral drain and spin.....the Kenmore's timer seemed to take a little more time to shift into spin than the Whirlpool. My imagination? Neal

    ???

Form and Function Rick....this '56 Whirlpool has to be the " 1959 Cadillac" of design in Washing Machines. There are some great designs out there.....but this one seems to bring form and function together!!! This baby "rocks!!!" Neal

The Reveal -- A Vintage Washer To Call My Own

Cutaway Picture Link Thanks for linking those cutaways of the Frigidaire. I was wondering why they went originally from a perforated tub to a solid tub. Maybe because the high-speed spin "dimpled" the clothes? As for the sound of washers with no outer tubs, it is incredible. From my education...

The Reveal -- A Vintage Washer To Call My Own

Love at first sight Wow. This one is almost exactly like the one my Aunt Shirley had in her kitchen on the South Side of Chicago. I remember the agitator being black.......and there seemed to be a metal extension on the drain hose going into the kitchen sink. Of course.......no outer...

    Kelvinator POD 3/1

Is this the Kelvinator of Kelvinators? Interesting Controls!!! But no window? What gives? I love that filter, but I can imagine how dizzy it would make you to watch this baby!!! Splash City!!! Lots of "magic minutes" to enjoy here......this one is a gem. Neal

    the GREATER agitator

Best Agitator By far, it's Deep Action for me. That agitator looked like an Apollo Space Capsule ready to take off. #2 Speed Queen....The High-Vaned Agitator with the little crown on the top. Powerful and simple.
