It's definitely on a platform, the baseboard heat would prevent it from being pulled out, they raised it higher than the baseboard to allow it to be moved LOL
Hi Melvin, OMG, these pictures brought back some childhood memories, we had the same exact model washer and dryer in our house from 1968, The washer was the only GE washer that I remember having individual lights around the timer dial that coordinated with the programmed selection buttons on the...
Whirlpool has always been the world leader in laundry. More American built washers and dryers come out of their Clyde, Ohio plant. At one point they actually produced more Kenmore washers than Whirlpool. models.
I wouldn't be concerned about the oil coming from the transmission, that is normal for a machine that age. In photo 4 there is a hose hanging down, I am assuming it's from the bleach dispenser, could that be where your leak is coming from.
My Aunt had the French door bottom freezer version from 1966. It had a nameplate on the right door that said, customer built by Sundburg Ferar for Victoria, I always thought that was neat. The doors were wood grained, looked like paneling with barn door hinges painted on them.
If it is a model KUDA220T it is the best dishwasher ever built, wen had one in our first house that I installed in 1992. In 1994 we moved and bought the same dishwasher but it was the new model KUDA23, which had thew Whirlpool motor in it, it was no where as good as the 22 series, I'm still...
I have to say Whirlpool would be the largest manufacturing factory in Clyde, Ohio. You have to remember not only did they produce Whirlpool brand washers and dryers but they manufactured Kenmore, Kitchen Aid, Roper, Estate, Crosley and other unpopular name brands. At one time when they were at...
Yes, I agree when they went to the orbital transmission was the beginning of the end. Their next step to manufacturing junk was when they marketed then old Norge designed washer under the Performa name, it was all down hill after that, followed by the super large capacity Atlantis, the Neptune...
I remember in 1986 there was Panasonic labeled air conditioners manufactured by General Electric. They were larger air conditioners, the same units as the old GE Super Thrust models. We had 3 GE Super Thrust units in my parents house and they had that typical GE tan case with the aluminum grille...
I would definitely put my money on either the contractors shut the water off to the machine, or disconnected the water supply to the machine or even maybe a clogged water valve. I doubt there is anything wrong with the machine especially if it was working before the renovation. These old D&M...
Kitchen Aid has because of the Hydro Wash wash arm a feature that they call "load as you like" the spray comes out of all different angles on the wash arm which covers both sides of the dishes equally. I grew up with a KDS17A in my parents house and I remember my Mom loading the dishwasher...
Are you sure the machine is hooked up to hot water, or is your water going into the machine at least 130 degrees? It appears to be a grease build up caused by the water not being hot enough to soften the grease and flush it away. Are you using a good powder or liquid detergent such as Cascade...
I remember growing up at home we had a KDS17A and during the winter Holidays when my Mother and Aunts were cleaning up the kitchen they would often open the window by the sink and when the dishwasher would go into the dry cycle steam would actually come out from between the door and access panel...
It's definitely a bad fill valve, what's happening is when you first start there machine the electro magnetic coils are cold, so they will energize, as the cycle progresses and the electro magnets heat up and can no longer energize. Very easy repair.
