What DW rinse agent are you using?

I used Jet Dry for years, until they made the formula so thin that it leaks out my rinse aid dispenser on the KDS-14. I am using the Safeway brand, which is the consistency of the old Jet Dry. No problems with it!

'53 Packard Bell TV - need advice

paulg Damn! I wish you were closer too. Oh well. I will start looking at those caps and replace what I can afford. I thank you and everyone for the great advice!!

    will not start

Do you have an ohmmeter? Test the switch and see if it opens and closes. You can always try taking the switch out of the circuit. Is it just a two wire switch? If so, twist them together and make sure they are have some electrical tape around them so they don't short out or anything. If it...

'53 Packard Bell TV - need advice

The Leslie organ speaker also used the "plug - in" electrolytic capacitors. Great design! Since I'm on a budget, should I start with the electrolytics and see what happens? Or is it more likely the paper/wax caps? Thank you all for responding! I really appreciate the help.

    Back In BIZ!

My neighbor got me started on Biz bleach. I was sold. I got my mother hooked on it, and she used it until she passed away. Excellent product!!

'53 Packard Bell TV - need advice

I would have to say no to both questions. The picture looks fine always, except for the brightness creeping up. I just keep turning it down. However, the other night, it brightened to the point that the brightness control was all the way down, but the picture was still fine.

'53 Packard Bell TV - need advice

This beast gets brighter and brighter for the first half hour or so after it is turned on. Do you suppose it's the electrolytic caps? They are the originals. The picture tube was rebuilt about six years ago, but it did the same thing before and after the rebuild. If I replace the...

    Lawry's spaghetti sauce mix...

My Grandmother used Lawry's sauce for years. She cooked her "homemade" sauce all day, or so she told my Grandfather. He never knew that it was a package mix! And, yes, I think it is very good.

    Magnavox Concert Grande - 1960

All the tubes check excellent on multiple testers. It does have a tuning eye, and it doesn't indicate anything at all. I will call Harold Hagen for sure. Thank you rickr and all for the advice!

    Magnavox Concert Grande - 1960

I've got a BEAUTIFUL Magnavox stereo from 1960. However, the FM part of the radio does not work. It is dead, dead, dead. Am and phono work great. Anyone know of a repairman in Western Washington state? The shops I've tried look at you like you're from Mars when you mention a tube type!!

    Hammond organs

I agree! There is nothing like a Hammond organ. I've been playing professionaly for the past 26 years and still use my original M-3. The M-3's are rather underated in my opinion. I've only had my baby in the shop one time, and that turned out to be a problem with the organ mate reverb unit...

    Storage time....

franksdad I know how pricey the B-3 is. Have you ever played an M-3? It's the spinet model of the B-3. It's got the same tone generator and is a fantastic instrument. I've got two M-3's - one in the house, and one that has been on the road with me for the last 26 years.

Kenmore "Visi - Matic" water pump

I've got a 1967 Kenmore wringer with a bad water pump. The rubber impeller actually tore apart. I think one part of the impeller tore off, then jammed and tore the other side off. Needless to say - it's shot!! Any ideas on finding an impeller, or something that would work? Thanks!!

    Sauvitel Field Flowers Fabric Softener

I love Suavitel too! I use softener mainly for the scent, so Suavitel is perfect for me. My favorite is the Rose and Cedarwood scent.

    Virus protection

I use Emisoft, formerly "A-squared". A wonderful anti-virus that is very pro-active, easy to use, and catches far more problems than most programs out there. There is a free version, but I spend the money for the upgrade which runs me about $12 for three months.
