No, haven’t found one yet =/ktrain,
Did you ever find one of these? Your post reminded me of how much I would like one as well and have been looking around lately, I found this on FB Marketplace. Too far away for me, and I'd imagine you as well but here it is anyway

If it's a viable option, good luck!
Yes it is.phillymatt53
That is something to consider on these, hadn't ever thought about that.
From what I've seen, they've been "recalled" due to fire and burn issues, and turning on unexpectedly.Frigidaire fold back cooking units, while these unique units definitely had some unique characteristics, the last thing I would worry about is safety, they were well designed to be safe even if the elements were red hot you could fold them back. The power is cut off when the units are folded back, so there was no fire hazard.
There was certainly no electrical hazard either with having the burners fold down yes the wiring had to flex but it was designed to flex. It’s only 16 gauge wire for the elements and it flexes over the span of several inches so you probably could open and close the thing 1 million times before the wiring, would ever begin to fail, and even if it did fail and short, it would only trip a circuit breaker there would be no shock or fire hazard from such failure.
I imagine the real reason this design did not catch on was the limitations on large pans for canning, all the cracks and crevices to clean, and the fact that it cost a lot more to build than a plane, smooth cooktop.

You can contact me at [email protected] if you are interested.Want to buy Frigidaire fold-back surface units, such as the model RV-92 pictured.
Looking for a set in excellent cosmetic *and* working condition. Willing to pay more than it’s worth for those of you hoarding some away!

Do you have the install instructions? Trying to service my 2 setsFrigidaire fold back cooking units
I just picked up one of these two unit Frigidaire cooking units. It’s the original one just like you posted from 1955.
Are you looking for a total of four surface units or just two?
Frigidaire went through about three generations of these fullback units in the next generator. They started putting all four units in one unit or you could still get the two unit models.
The one I just got is in working in complete condition. It’s a little bit dirty. Needs a good cleaning, I’m trying to get a two unit one to install in the museum kitchen. There’s a space for it.
I have quite a few spare parts for these if you end up getting one that needs a piece get in touch.

Got any genuine radian tube replacements? You Snooze, You Lose !
Didnt hear back from you in a timely manner, so didnt think you were interested. What I did hear from were 10 others who had an interest in the fold down unit. After being in the appliance parts, repair and retail business for over 45yrs I learned the hard way that a serious buyer looking for a rare item will respond quickly and holding and waiting for a response is often futile. So after not hearing from you and 10 others asking to purchase I sold it to the next person in line on it. Just a suggestion, if you find a rare never used item from as far back as the 50's....dont sit on it....grab it when you can. Us "hoarders" often only have a limited supply of our inventory.
I just took mine out...they're sitting in my garage waiting for their new home. I know we talked before- what did you think about their condition?Bump still looking.
