Want to buy Frigidaire fold-back surface units, such as the model RV-92 pictured.

Looking for a set in excellent cosmetic *and* working condition. Willing to pay more than it’s worth for those of you hoarding some away!

Thank you in advance.

Frigidaire fold back cooking units

I just picked up one of these two unit Frigidaire cooking units. It’s the original one just like you posted from 1955.

Are you looking for a total of four surface units or just two?

Frigidaire went through about three generations of these fullback units in the next generator. They started putting all four units in one unit or you could still get the two unit models.

The one I just got is in working in complete condition. It’s a little bit dirty. Needs a good cleaning, I’m trying to get a two unit one to install in the museum kitchen. There’s a space for it.

I have quite a few spare parts for these if you end up getting one that needs a piece get in touch.

@10050cielodr definitely interested, and email sent!

@combo52 no real preference on 2 vs. 4. I guess if I had the option I would choose 4 just for the aesthetic of it alone...but I intend to use this (once I find one), and don't ever see myself heating more than 1 pot / pan at a time.

@rollermatic haha fair enough! Of course I meant what I said all in good fun, anyway...

You Snooze, You Lose !

Didnt hear back from you in a timely manner, so didnt think you were interested. What I did hear from were 10 others who had a interest in the fold down unit. After being in the appliance parts, repair and retail business for over 45yrs I learned the hard way that a serious buyer looking for a rare item will respond quickly and holding and waiting for a response is often futile. So after not hearing from you and 10 others asking to purchase I sold it to the next person in line on it. Just a suggestion, if you find a rare never used item from as far back as the 50's....dont sit on it....grab it when you can. Us "hoarders" often only have a limited supply of our inventory.

@10050cielodr I thought I had email notifications turned on to let me know if / when somebody replies to my thread(s). After not seeing anything for several days, I came back here and realized notifications were NOT on. Ultimately my mistake I guess…but it was unintentional.

Congrats on your sale though.

Looks like I’m still on the hunt!

Kevin/Ktrainhurricane,

This board in its current design* doesn't send notifications on replies to posts.  Users must come back to view threads of interest to check for replies.  An upgraded/paid user account enables Wash/Rinse/Spin indicators beside each thread on the index pages, which change color to indicate Wash/red for a new thread the user hasn't viewed, Rinse/yellow for a new reply in a viewed thread, and Spin/blue for a viewed thread with no replies ... but it still doesn't send notifications.

* The webmaster of the site, who custom-wrote the code, announced today that he is retiring from running it.  The service that is taking over the operation probably will transition the board at some point to an updated format with new features.

@dadoes I sincerely appreciate the info. Kinda figured as much though once I checked back on this thread as mentioned above and saw a bunch of replies.

I’m a member on so many different forums and just assumed (I know that saying!) “Email notifications” would be applied.

I have the page saved now though and will be sure to check regularly in hopes of someone else having the fold-back units I’m looking for! ::fingers crossed::
