    1955 Hotpoint stove

Tom ... Tom, interesting enough "wm" and "3" do not work at all, the burner stays cold on either. Only "hi", "2" and "lo" work on the inner/inside coil. Maybe it is a bad wire and not the switch ???

    1955 Hotpoint stove

dan.... no, that would be a "newer" model. I think John (coldspot) hit it, I think its a bad pushbutton switch ... I can still use the burner and it does work, but only the "inner" portion of it works.

    1955 Hotpoint stove

John thats what I thought too, I have tried to different burners so I guess I will just have to keep an eye out for a new "pushbutton" switch on ebay right ? Those parts are probably "long-gone" .......

    1955 Hotpoint stove

burner trouble ? well thanks for the compliments, I am a bit baffled, the right rear burner both the old one and the replacement work but NOT on "hi". Only the inner part of the burner works so it gloes red on "2" which is the next setting down from hi. I tried to swap the wires red wires so...

    1955 Hotpoint stove

hi dan thanks, the centers on the knobs are not copper but brass, or brass plated, they are "worn". The burners are "color-coded" but because I have replaced three of the four burners and the "colors" next to the push buttons have worn off. I guess you could say that the colors are "non-prevalent".
