New Production Vintage Incandescent Light Bulbs

Well I have a pair of cool white LED bulbs in this lamp... The house across the street has a white LED in a lamp that's on nightly at the window, I stayed at a motel 6 which not to my surprise had an all cool white LED set up in the room I stayed at... And that was a lot more noticeable than...

Seven-Segment LED, colors that seem to be in and out of fashion

Yes, the flip-flop clocks are what I meant, Joe... Mom was against that type of unit fearing too much movement would wear out more than an analog or radial clock... We had a range, however where the numbers turned on its digital clock, so I'm surprised a clock like that with that type of...

    Gillette MACH3 Blades

Now even buying larger and aftershave is also getting expensive… — Dave

Seven-Segment LED, colors that seem to be in and out of fashion

Well here’s one of the oldest working things in the house bought by its original owners: My mom recommended an LED over a rotating dial when I wanted a digital clock and back when those diodes were mostly done in red… The bulb in the nightlight got replaced and the first one lasted more years...

    Cycle and Fabric Naming Conventions

I had one of those full-featured Kenmore 90-series… Labeled mine into a Letters-Machine… — Dave

Let's talk jeans. Love them or hate them?

Lots of YouTube videos but this is the only one suitable This came on the radio, making me think about this thread...   And my mom sometimes mentioning what she referred to as "the blue jean crowd"...       -- Dave

    What? No "Touch-N-Cook"?

FLOWING HEAT dryers, yeh, I think that's it...       -- Dave

    Tappan trash compactor

Our trash trucks are like that now, too...   A claw picks up the garbage can that's provided and only a driver is now needed, so the can is lifted and emptied with a claw and put back down again...   Our recycling trucks have I think certain compartments the different kinds of recycling is...

vintage whirlpool looking for a new home

Nice, basic Whirlpool, that I hope at least has a true slow speed for the delicate cycle and nice you can do extra small loads and large... And good if you don't use bleach and/or fabric softener or need a dispenser for either... Does it at least have the Magic Clean lint filter? I don't see...

Seven-Segment LED, colors that seem to be in and out of fashion

Well honestly I don't recall the yellow/amber LED's but I'm sure they exist,., I practically grew up around the GM orange ones... Your blue alarm clock radio sure reminds me of my Radio Shack that I know I paid more for to get the blue LED set whi,e everything else cheaper was run of the mill...

    iiiiHappy Cinco de Mayo!!!!

Well this is the best I could come up with & can’t shake off that eggs ‘n sausage, which is sadly not a chorizo that I couldn’t find, but a chili cheese: Enjoy! — Dave

Seven-Segment LED, colors that seem to be in and out of fashion

Seems as though when clocks and other types of message screens first used seven-segment LED's, that red was mostly used... Then came orange, after which it looked like everything had to be green and briefly blue... Which I still see greatly used, but today, almost overnight, a lot of these...

    Cooking with gas burners

My daughter's friends nearly all have gas ranges, my daughter knows how to safely cook with one, I can trust her to do flaming broiling, and she hates the smoothtop electric range at her school, just as sure as she's probably still a stranger to coil-top electric ranges... Although my dad just...

Refrigerator review, WRFF3436RZ00, WP french door

Yes Todd, thanks for your review... I'm quite certain there will be no fridge like my Whirlpool side by side fridge... It's pushing 16-years-old, but cools and freezes perfectly, given that it's from one of the best last well made eras! I'd hate to think of what I'd have to replace it with...

    Range cleaning

Well I recently cleaned my gas oven, giving it the entire four-hours and waiting a shorter time between the last self-cleaning...   The ashes, baked-on/broiled-on grease, and soot seem to cook away without ever tainting my food, and the smoke alarm never even goes off either...   It's really...

    What? No "Touch-N-Cook"?

Yes, imagine that! Going from a Frigidaire just being a REFRIGERATOR to the Modern Day China-made Triangle Logo Crap of 2000-Nowaday!!!!   So NO Jet-Cone Agitator, either!!!!   Or whatever their Dry-innovations were in their dryers that I forgot the name of, as well!!!!         -- Dave

    Tappan trash compactor

Those Poor Compactors... What just makes twenty tons of garbage into another twenty tons of garbage... What will be said about every trash compactor that gets listed, then... An appliance that's long sat around unsold because of it long becoming obsolete... To me, I get fat bags of garbage...

    Westbend TL Washer

Remember all those small appliances with those names, that I was never much of a fan of...   Black & Decker could have stuck with outdoor/lawn/yard equipment...   We had an air-pop popcorn maker that was a West Bend which I believe may still be up in that kitchen cupboard and might even...

    1970s (?) Tappan Gas Range - thoughts?

Looks like the one some neighbors bought in the early-'80's...   It easily outlasted all their other appliances, hardly needing any repairs and worked perfectly right to the end when they just wanted a new stove...       -- Dave

    Settled on a new range!

Looks like a nice range, and it's too bad not new ones aren't made as this one, that well, anymore...       -- Dave
