Vibration Issue My guess would be a vibration issue causing the insulation on the wire to rub against a foreign object, wear away, and eventually short. If another component caused the short, it would have been replaced with the wire, right? Malcolm

As I Recall... Speed Queen has had issues with the mechanical timers. Apparently a bad batch of them from the manufacturer at some point. Additionally, the stainless steel washtub at some point have shipped with some rough welding edges (check yours at delivery) YMMV Malcolm

Speed Queen The speed of the pulley on the transmission is the same as the tub spin speed. 710 RPM for high speed. Malcolm
