4.3 cu ft VMWs: How did they Hold Up?

I think the 4.2 to 4.3 cu ft VMWs had more or less issues than others, depending on what the issue was. These were less prone to bearing issues, but for most other failures, these were more prone to issues. The older style like in the image was discontinued in 2022 but they were very common, and...

Whirlpool Parts Now Can’t be Found for Newer Washers?

The six light style units have readily available parts, and the newest units may use the same control boards as the older ones did.

Whirlpool Parts Now Can’t be Found for Newer Washers?

The WTW4100SW uses a different gearcase, suspension, and drain pump, and all are listed as NLA. I can’t find parts for the latest VMAX’s yet, and some are not even labeled “new”. It’s been a few months since they were out, and there are still no readily available parts of them. Whirlpool maybe...

Whirlpool Parts Now Can’t be Found for Newer Washers?

Some of the models with no replaceable parts have been out since 2024.

Whirlpool Parts Now Can’t be Found for Newer Washers?

My washer and dryer are from 2014, my oven is from 2014, and my fridge is from 2016. I plan on replacing the washer soon since the bearings are out in it. My washer still continues to work, it’s just loud.

Whirlpool Parts Now Can’t be Found for Newer Washers?

I wouldn’t be surprised if Whirlpool went bankrupt in a few years, all the new Whirlpool laundry applianced are terrible, except for maybe their dryers. The state of Whirlpool right now reminds me of the state of Maytag in the early 2000s. Not sure about the kitchen appliances, I have all...

Whirlpool Parts Now Can’t be Found for Newer Washers?

Yes, they are brand new models, some are as old as June 2025. Still with unavailable parts, saw a review on Maytag’s official website saying their new VMAX was defective and they needed a new washer because the part that failed was NLA. Also, I just found a refurbished RWTW5010LW apparently...

Whirlpool Parts Now Can’t be Found for Newer Washers?

Apparently, on Whirlpool’s newest washers, every part that’s in it is different and no vender sells them, all say the part has been discontinued, and many of the new model numbers, no result shows up. I wouldn’t recommend Whirlpool anymore, everything they make now is junk. Not only is Whirlpool...

    Whirlpool Washer Rant!

This is a VMAX model and those don’t have major control board issues like the basic ones do. Although this particular model does have issues with its slider or bearings, the older VMAX’s were good and as long as the bearings were good on the older VMAX machines the repairs were easy. The newer...

    Whirlpool Washer Rant!

Look at review and look at posts online, so many bad control boards on modern units, plus your washer is practically brand new it won’t start to have issues until about a year or so. A brand new VMW obviously will work unless it’s defective or something.

    VMW curb grab

No modern machine is really, except maybe Speed Queen but even Speed Queen is slowly going downhill. You can sell it if it works, you can sell it for cheaper if it has dings and scratches on it, has a bad bearing, etc. These VMWs with the washplates seem to have better suspension rods than the...

When did Maytag start to go bad?

I’m actually a parent, but all my kids are grown, my youngest is in the late 20s but I do have siblings with teens or younger kids. For example, my brother is 49 and his kids are 14, 17, and 20. I can agree, some of the kids/young adults can be problematic, and parents often now wash their...

    Whirlpool Washer Rant!

No. They haven’t. Both are known for control issues. Honestly don’t mind impeller/agipeller washers, if I has to pick between the 4516 and 4519 I’d personally pick the 4519, larger capacity and better quality suspension rods. I also like stainless steel drums over any porcelain coated drum...

When did Maytag start to go bad?

Not as good as the Whirlpool direct drive (including Maytag branded ones) or the dependable care, but still far better than the Neptune.

REPOST - When did GE start to go bad?

I honestly don’t like any modern or somewhat older GE washer, GE came out with the Model-T wash which was just an utter disaster, then the HydroWave which was even worse, and GE also had WCI make the majority of their laundry centers. GE still makes decent refrigerators, although the GE fridges...

    Whirlpool Washer Rant!

I don’t understand why anyone would want the 4516 instead of the 4519 either, it has worse quality suspension rods and smaller tub although when new the 4516 spins smoother, the 4519 has more options and I don’t mind the taller impeller VMWs, although I’m not too big on the smaller balance ring...

Amana NTW4516FW washer has officially been discontinued???

The Maytag Commercial’s are better than the regular VMWs they have a better quality control board and I don’t usually see the suspension or bearings fail on these either. The coin slot ones with the porcelain drums definitely are known for suspension issues and those are a different story...
