    Siemens table dishwasher won't Drain

Photograph #1 There should be two pumps on the machine. According to your photo, the sump unit is white, the larger wash pump is at the bottom left of the picture (a shade of grey), with the white heater box on the right-hand side. The drain pump is smaller, and looks to be at the top of the...

    What? No more warm water?

Warm Rinse I remember Hoover-Candy had a 'Quattro' frontloader - I think it was - which had a warm final rinse before the spin cycle. It was supposed to give a better spin efficiency. This was around the time when 1600rpm was still only a 'B' grade efficiency on some manufacturers' machines.

    Trip Through Some German Waschsalons

Broadbent spin dryer It appears Broadbent as a company is still operational as part of Broadbent Group. The laundry division is under Vega Systems. Not much Broadbent historical info at all - it's all modern corporate biased. As others have said, spin dryers have gone from their catalogues...

Miele Twin Dos delayed cheesy smell on items

There might be several possibilities... 1: you are under-dosing the detergent, so dirt and soiling might remain in the fabrics leading to the sour smell. 2: you are overdosing, so detergent might not properly be rinsed out. 3: the detergent itself may be the cause. It might be the...

Windows 7 slowing down to a standstill

I ran another CHKDSK /f /r operation. Just to be on the safe side. Nothing untoward, and all is tickety-boo. No errors. I read somewhere that file corruption on the disk can be generally caused by 'dirty shutdowns'... Such as deliberately powering off whilst the machine is doing something in...

Windows 7 slowing down to a standstill

I was having more problems with Firefox and Avira. I ended up with a black screen of death - so after running some further chkdsk operations and finding some corruption of the bootstat.dat file, I thought I would try to install Windows 10. No such luck. Stalled at 30%, so I forced the machine...

Cute Countertop Dishwasher with Water Reservoir

It seems an interesting machine for the size format... especially the ability to adapt the basket with the removable modules. I wonder who makes the detergent? I get the impression that the detergent format is not unlike that of the Somat automatic one, discussed a month or two ago. 'Bob'...

Where is the filter hoover ecologic a3954

There wasn't a ball valve with those machines - that was introduced on the New Wave/Classica ranges. What might be leaking is the 'shaded-pole pump'. Seals perished. Probably any replacement pump would be a magnetic variant these days.

Windows 7 slowing down to a standstill

I think Firefox runs a bit quicker than Chrome. One thing I do notice, is the fonts aren't quite as 'clean' in Firefox. They're a little less clearly defined - at least to my eyes.

Windows 7 slowing down to a standstill

Hmm, or maybe not... It appears that by installing Avira, it has automatically installed Opera browser without my explicit consent. As far as I can see, I wasn't asked whether I wanted it or not.

Windows 7 slowing down to a standstill

Thanks. I've been reading that Avast! has had complaints in the recent past for maxing out CPU, memory etc. And it was working fine until I looked at the application update. I updated from within, using the update now button. Avast was updated to version 18.something, which then updated to...

Windows 7 slowing down to a standstill

Basically, since about August/September, I've experienced the laptop running slow for no good reason. I used Chrome, Avast! free antivirus, and Windows firewall. It eventually got to the stage of taking minutes to boot (stuck on the Welcome screen), black/blank screen, refusal to load Task...

    SOMAT 'SMART' automatic detergent dispenser

Regarding the compartments possibly emptying at different rates... Here's a review I found from the Somat Smart site: "No need to add powder or tabs - remaining rinsing cycles are displayed I would like to be able to refill the individual chambers separately - because I do not use all the...

    SOMAT 'SMART' automatic detergent dispenser

"And, you know, if you make it a 3 color gimmick, give it some bleach for gods sake." Quite. According to the ingredients, there is no bleach. So, an 'epic fail' from the start. How are tea and coffee stains supposed to be removed? What is the problem with detergent companies these days...

    SOMAT 'SMART' automatic detergent dispenser

I wonder how this will work in practise. Surely one of of the compartments will be depleted before the others? You'll probably find people trying to refill the compartments themselves, to save money. It reminds me of the tri-colour inkjet printer cartridges... one colour always seemed to run...

    SOMAT 'SMART' automatic detergent dispenser

It seems to have alkaline detergent as the blue liquid, with the yellow liquid being the enzyme cocktail. Red liquid seems to be the rinse-aid. White triangular section is an air-freshener.

    SOMAT 'SMART' automatic detergent dispenser

A new automatic dosing dispenser device for dishwashers. To me, it looks to be about the size of a chopping-board. It seems to dispense gel-based detergent. https://www.somatsmart.com/de/startseite/somat-dosiergeraete.html

    Ariel, with Purezyme

Re: P&G's mania for liquids, pods "they seem hell bent on getting people converted to liquids, if not better pods." I came across this, from Henkel: "We also need significantly less energy to manufacture Persil liquid detergents than we do to manufacture powders. The elaborate drying process...
