Speed Queen top loader review / Consumer Reports.org

What didn't CR like about TL Speed Queens? Are they biased against all top loaders due to the water consumption?

A good day at the haulaway pile Pt.2

Tub Indexing It's so great you saved these. We had a washer just like this one except in white and no "normal/cold wash" option. Replaced it with a Maytag 10 years later after oil spots started appearing on the clothes. Is it just me or does there seem to be more sympathetic tub indexing...

    Guiding Light's Replacement

Looks like they're bringing back "Let's Make a Deal" (one of Robert's favorite shows). I like Wayne Brady, but will it have any flavor of the original? http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tv/lets-make-a-deal/EP01176132

    More Suspicious Branding Behavior

Hmmm...washer looks like a 20 year old Maytag and the dryer a 25 year old Kenmore... http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ram/app/1385700076.html

    Toy appliances?

Suzy I believe I was given my washer for Christmas in 1966 or 1967. It still works, although the lid met its demise in a Suzy Homemaker oven. I was burning through so many D batteries I eventually just wired it to my erector set's transformer.

    I wanna try wine

Warning: Tasteless joke ahead Pturo's post reminds me of a joke I read last year... Mother Superior called all the nuns together and said to them, "I must tell you all something. We have a case of gonorrhea in the convent." "Thank God," said an elderly nun at the back. "I'm so tired of...

    Do you speak "office speak"?

Thanks for the laughs and insights! Many of these phrases are thrown around my office. I had a boss that was fond of saying "on the docket"...I don't think she even knew what a docket was (I had to google it myself before writing this).

    Ubuntu

I have 'edubuntu'. I don't know a lot about the Linux/ubuntu world since the whole machine was given to me (and maintained by) a computer geek friend, but I'm learning. (He insisted I replace my old Dell Windows ME machine.) I find it to be fairly intuitive to use and have had no problems. I...
