    GE Dishwasher

Awesome! Thanks for the links-- I am duly impressed! Anything that can take out dried cat food earns a deep bow of respect in my book. That stuff might as well be Portland cement or Quikcrete on dishes when it dries... Very impressed. Don't think I've seen that model before, but I seem to...

    GE Dishwasher

Potscrubber? Or before? Is that a Potscrubber model? Or is it before/after that? Seen many GE's similar to this lately on the local CL here... Almost all are the 80's black, too...

    KDI-21 in Minneapolis

Check this out-- I spoke with the guy already. Very nice: I just have no room for it. Looks clean... He did tell me he had no idea what it's history was (ran last, etc), but judging by the tag ID, it's still a Hobart KA Imperial. Deserves a loving home... Said call or text if interested...

    New In Old

I stand corrected Yep-- now that i've seen one, it kinda looks like Fisher-Price stuff (kids toys)! Too bad: a great idea got sidetracked to the way of the Cheap Junk. Too many things like that nowadays...

    New In Old

Ferrari dishwasher, baby! Too bad on this side of the pond there's nothing that can go from zero to clean in 2.3 seconds like that red rod can! Wow-- I SO need that! (even if it's an HE-takes-all-night-for-one-load, it still looks cool!) I can picture the dialog at a party: "so we just got a...

    Heads-up in So. Mpls

Either or? Yes! :-p Ha ha-- depends on the day. I've been accused of being nutty more times than I can remember, and I was a auto tech in dealerships for 13 too long years. I'm definetly a DP fan... And I play guitar too, but mostly it's that name is just because I've been tinkering and...

    Kitchenaid Superba

Beauty! Nice find! Ok, so what year is it, approximately? I know KA was "absorbed" by Whirl-tag-more-pool in or around '86, so is this model one of the transition models?

    MT Washer(blue console) & gas dryer(gold) - $100ea./OBO MN

Hmmm... A benji seem a bit high for an A606? Last one I found was in Iowa for a forty-spot

    Heads-up in So. Mpls

It's gone No idea what it was, went up and down the alleys described and saw absolutely nothing. Hope it went to a good home...

    Heads-up in So. Mpls

Midnight Interventions I know, right? That's why I didn't go now... Okay, truth is, I got "the Look" from my wife. "it's 11 o'clock at night! [and we have a two year old little girl who was way over tired] and you wanna do what??" But... But... Doesn't every appliance nut "go for the hash" at...

    Heads-up in So. Mpls

From Craigslist: "It's avocado green with a butcher block top - yours for the taking, for scrap or use. In the alley between Portland and Oakland on 42nd street here in lovely, sunny South Minneapolis. Location: S. Mpls it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial...

research help: why did front loaders drop off from 70s-00s?

Gotta love the Poppy! Frigidaire, that is-- and not the dull brick that I believe was a later design change. That flaming Chinese red wasn't that popular (yes?) but it looks reel good on a 1-18! Like an old vette-- maybe the red hot rod of washers, at least in paint jobs!

    Heads up in Minnesota!

Check this out-- looks to be an older GE, maybe late 60's or 70's. "Use as a parts washer"?? Really? REALLY? Ok, maybe that's a good use... but a vintage dw? Somebody in the northern area of MN can scoop this baby up! Just thought i'd share... its on the Hennipen county craigslist.

KDS-20 nightmares: Calling in the KA guru's!

BTW, the soft food disposer... Hi Rollermatic-- a post-script: Like you, i'd never seen or heard of a soft-food disposer on any older KA (pre-Whirltag assimilation, that is), so i was quite surprised to read in a KA manual for the 20 i have that there was one. Interesting design too: it...

KDS-20 nightmares: Calling in the KA guru's!

Good morning to all the saviours of my Kitchenaid! BIG BIG THANK YOU hugs to any and all who read and responded to my extended diatribe-- i had hit wits end, and was really starting to spin... and not in a good hi-speed Frigidaire washer-way either! I am going to reassemble and take 'er out...

KDS-20 nightmares: Calling in the KA guru's!

Hello all-- been a long time since i posted anything, been watching but that's about it since getting married and having a new baby running around our house! I am in a serious jam and i need some help. I removed our modern Frigidaire DW and replaced it with a KDS-20 for use as a daily driver...

Applause, Bravo and Standing Ovations! Wonderful! Outstanding! Fantastic! And its good, too! Thanks so much to bajaespuma and laundromat for your detective work! Another 30 year mystery solved-- hot damn! (the last one was who made the funky agitator that went up and down-- thanks again to...

What kind of dishwasher was this?

Hi everyone! OK, beaming out to all the DW Guru's out there, i have a puzzle for you that i'd like some input and help in solving. Unfortunately, i don't have pictures (only mental ones) to share that would help ID'ing this thing easier. Somewhere around 1977, my Dad brought home an old...

    Inspecting pump components on KDS-17

Well i looked in my appliance file thinking i had a picture/exploded diagram for the pump on a KDS-17A, but i can't find the damn thing so i'll go from memory, having taken mine apart a few months ago. Somebody correct me if i'm wrong, but as far as the 17A went, after the Hydro-Sweep arm was...
