From Craigslist:

"It's avocado green with a butcher block top - yours for the taking, for scrap or use.

In the alley between Portland and Oakland on 42nd street here in lovely, sunny South Minneapolis.
Location: S. Mpls
it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests"

No picture, no posting ID. No contact, nothing. Sounds like something that runs... Anybody close by to take a peek? I might stop by it tomorrow. It posted this evening. Maybe good, maybe junk-- but avocado green is a good sign. If somebody grabs it, would you post pics?

Midnight Interventions

I know, right? That's why I didn't go now... Okay, truth is, I got "the Look" from my wife. "it's 11 o'clock at night! [and we have a two year old little girl who was way over tired] and you wanna do what??"

But... But... Doesn't every appliance nut "go for the hash" at wee hours??? Pleeeez? No? Dammit. All right, we'll see about later...

OCD can be fun... Why can't ''normal' people understand when some appliance spirit from waybac teases you with sweet green avocado nothing's? (chuckling at myself)

Ah well. Mayhap someone else be destined for it. If its still there when I get there, I'll post pics.

"and visions of roto-racks danced in their heads..." My kinda sweet dreams!

It's gone

No idea what it was, went up and down the alleys described and saw absolutely nothing.
Hope it went to a good home...

I know that neighborhood and I'd be afraid that someone would take a shot at me from their back door if they saw a pickup and someone loading something from the alley at that time of night, LOL!

Pure curiosity: Machine Head as in the Deep Purple album or machine head as in the guitar parts?

Either or? Yes! :-p

Ha ha-- depends on the day. I've been accused of being nutty more times than I can remember, and I was a auto tech in dealerships for 13 too long years. I'm definetly a DP fan... And I play guitar too, but mostly it's that name is just because I've been tinkering and wondering about all things machines (especially appliances) since I could hold a screwdriver. Now I'm a manual machinist and I'm getting micrometer thimbles of numbers in my aging eyeballs-- I still can't seem to shake the obsession with all things mechanical or electronic... 'Smoke On The Water' now refers to how my head feels after working on studying for an eventual mechanical engineering degree. I figure I can really go crazy with deep detail and design then, and maybe get paid for it too!
