in 2004... This one cost $1400. The flat panel that took its place in the Living Room cost more, but not much, and it's almost twice as big. (and about 150lbs less) When I had a group of friends help me move this thing, as we carried it, a hardwood plank split lengthwise under our feet. <shrug>

Tom... This cold snap has made me think that my house could use a bit more insulation. I miss living in the condo now, where the hvac was included in the condo fee.

I vote for electric.... My condo has a Magic Chef Chateau gas range. Danger prone me burned everything. The house has a Frigidaire Gallery Series glass top electric. Now I'm not such a frightening cook. =)

Switchboard The 608 is the exact model they have at my condo. It's a hi rise and they actually have three of them lined up behind the front desk. The telephones in the condos work independently of the switchboard, of course. The desk staff simply use it to announce guests, and take messages.

I never understood fire drills.... I'm surprised that not everyone in my office is in good shape. They do fire drills way too often where I work. Elevators are off limits during the drills. Floor=30. Stairs suck. =)
