    Broil element not turning on.

So after having no luck trying to remove the broil element due to very rusty screws that probably haven't been removed since the stove was new, and removing the back panel to closer inspect the wiring (and what I'm guessing is the junction block?) with no luck, I wedged my self as far as I could...

    Broil element not turning on.

@rp2813: Thanks for your reply. Haven't got a chance to remove the element yet to get a closer inspection. Let's say I do and I can't find any breaks in it, is there anything else that would keep it from turning on?

    Broil element not turning on.

As the title states, the broil element in my old Tappan won't turn on. The indicator light on the panel will light up when I turn the thermostat to the broil position but no heat.. Could it be the element it self? Or something else I may be overlooking?

Someone in the Bay Area rescue this old GE before it's scrapped!

Arrgghh! I would totally go get this if it wasn't 6 hours away (one way) I didn't have to work and it wasn't pouring rain out! They claim it works. I never have the luck! Hopefully someone here could at least rescue it before some scrapper gets it...

    Questions about my DE808.

Thanks a lot Kenmore! I was able to download the manual you sent me which will be a great help in the future as well!

    Questions about my DE808.

Thanks for the replies! Anybody have a part number for the belt or know where I could find one? Also how far apart does the dryer need to come apart before I have access to the belt? I did a search but had no luck..

    Questions about my DE808.

So in the middle of drying my first load of clothes earlier today, I noticed my DE808 was sounding quieter than usual, so when I went to open the door, I immediately noticed that the drum wasn't spinning. When I spinned it by hand the drum moved freely, so I'm guessing it's a belt? Anybody...

Another one saved from the scrapper.

@hippiedoll: I tried the "date code search" on that site and it stated it won't work for appliances made before the 70's?

    Help appreciated with my Philco..

Thanks to all replies. @funktionalart: I am worried about the R12 since it's hard to come by and expen$ive. I doubt it's the thermostat since I let it run for over 24 hours straight and everything inside the fridge is still room temp. @arbilab: Yes, it's been standing up for a very long time...

Another one saved from the scrapper.

@bluejay: Thanks! @dnastrau: Thanks, I'm not surprised they're later judging by the knob (or lack of a handle) on the door. How were you able to figure out both month and year? @hippiedoll: Thanks, you usually can't go wrong with free! :-)

    Help appreciated with my Philco..

After owning my Philco Fridge for over 6 years and using it daily most of those years with no problems, it decided it stopped wanting to get cold after I pulled it out of storage after moving.. I'm fearing the worst which is all the old R12 (I think that's the type of refrigerant it had in it)...
