Paint @bradross; I will always have a weakness for that wonderful Green that was indicative to the late 20's and early 30's. How did they manage to blend the colors like that? Interesting. I like how the legs flounce out like that too.

Reply #51 I would LOVE to get my hands on an Wringer with an Agitating Tub! That is so neat, I'm always fascinated in the different forms of agitation on these early mechanical beasts!

    Thumping during spin cycle...

We have a Maytag washer model GA608 that thumps during the spin cycle. At first I just thought it was an unbalanced load, but it isn't. What could this be? Any suggestions?

This is right up my alley. Would love to pick this one up, but wonder how much shipping would be for this? This in an early one, you can tell by the location of the power switch being on the left side of the motor...

whirlcool- Thank you, that was very nice of you to say. In selecting the song, I wanted to go with something that was BRIGHT and PEPPY, and had that "Watch how it's done" sound to it. My favorite part of the song is at 0:55. Overall, I have a great love and appreciation for the late 1920's and...

rpms- Haha, this machine DOES splash a whole lot if the water isn't at or a little above the water line! Before we recorded, my camera guy and I had a practice walk through and when I plugged it in, apparently the agitator was engaged and it started splashing all over! It looked like a skit out...

Wetguymd Thanks, and yes, it can be removed. There is a screw at the top in the center of the agitator. The agitator shaft looks similar to a Whirlpool drive lug, just smaller and tapered to almost a point.

I'm glad everyone was pleased! It was fun to make and I tried to incorporate the aspects that I would have wanted to see. 1) Agitator not in motion in clear water first. 2) Agitator in motion to view the current it creates. 3) Agitation with towels without soap as to better view the wash action...

    Maytag Highlander

David Thank you again David. I think what I will do is run the access door down to a paint shop, and have the color matched. Wonder how good there are at really getting a perfect match on colors. And from what I learned, once I do get some paint, they sell this little apparatus that will be...
