Looks like zanussi are trying one one of hoovers old tricks...

Do they even make Zanussis in Italy anymore?

    New From Electrolux

They look rather nice, but the sealed outer tubs are a deal breaker to me. But I do have an impression that most people around here aren't that much bothered by sealed outer tubs anymore, am I right?

    Lazy engineers?!

@thomasortega: So it was Keith McLoughlin taking over from Hans Straberg that made you leave Electrolux? How did his leadership differ from that of Straberg? I get that you find the current policy to be about short-term profits above everything (which is an impression I have, too, because of...

I Purchased new AEG Protex Exclusiv Washer

These machines do look stunning. It's such a shame about the welded outer tub, though, which is a deal breaker as far as I'm concerned. Any chance of uploading a video of the final spin cycle?

    Thoughts on F.L.'S available here.

@mattywashboy - is that dryer really an Electrolux-made one? I know it says Electrolux on the fascia, but it doesn't resemble the Electrolux/Zanussi dryers I've seen elsewhere, is this perhaps a rebadged dryer from another manufacturer?

Psychological effect caused by spin noise

A potential psychological effect would be the relationship between spin noise level and perceived build quality - the lower the spin noise, the better the build quality. As for the spin speed itself, I think it's sufficient to see on the fascia how fast the washer is supposed to spin.

    alert samsung washer WF7704NA

@thomasortega - since you seem to be familiar with Electrolux products, do you know why Electrolux are now using welded outer tubs on their front loader washing machines? Is it planned obsolescence, cost cutting, or both? I mean, from a manufacturing point of view, there cannot be *that* much...

    New Home,New Washer

Indesit are also known as Indes[h]it (or should that be Inde[ep]s[h]it?) - make of that what you will :P Also, I believe some of their washers have welded outer tubs, but I cannot confirm this. Generally it's worth investigating this before buying a washer, regardless of brand.

    alert samsung washer WF7704NA

@thomasortega - perhaps they're going back to the slogan "Nothing sucks like an Electrolux"? :P

    alert samsung washer WF7704NA

@thomasortega: Would you be willing to elaborate with regards to the "internal politics" that have changed at Electrolux? I generally like Electrolux products myself, but with things like welded outer tubs now being used even in their high-end AEG washing machines, I'm wondering what they're...

    beko washing machine

The layout on the fascia looks a lot like that of recent Electrolux group washing machines, with the knob in the midde, the 5 + 1 buttons on the right and the vertical LEDs above the buttons.

    Best built modern washer?

What about Electrolux group washers (Electrolux, AEG, Zanussi, etc)? How's the build quality of their washers compared to, say, Bosch-Siemens? I know about the dreaded welded tubs, but apart from that?

AEG Protex Plus 8kg Washing Machine

I really want to like these washing machines, and for the most part I do. But why, oh why, did Electrolux opt for *sealed* outer tubs on these machines even on the high-end models? It just makes no sense, and to me that would be the ultimate deal-breaker - I wouldn't purchase any AEG Protex...

The Daimler Benz has Arrived...Model 4842

Funny you should mention Daimler Benz, who actually owned Miele's competitor AEG back in the day.

AEG Protex Plus 8kg Washing Machine

Don't know whether you care about this or not, but as far as I can tell (see my link) the AEG machine has a welded/sealed outer tub. That means that if the bearings fail, or if for some reason you need to split the tub to access something stuck in there, then you're out of luck. Instead of...

    Our new Zanussi ZWG7160P

Are there any advantages to having the pump mounted on the outer tub and having the filter in the tub accessible from the inner drum (apart from making it possible to retrieve small objects from the bottom of the outer tub, obviously, as Rolls_rapide pointed out), or is this just yet another...

    Mum's new machines!

The Protex range looks great, it's just such a pity that the washing machines have a welded tub. :(

    Our new Zanussi ZWG7160P

Does it have a split or a welded tub?

Yippieeeeeeeeee! the new dishwasher comes tomorow!

That dishwasher looks great! Is it made in Germany?
