I love how Whirlpool's advanced technology for the time turned over huge loads without the tub oscillating violently unlike GE did.

Especially after seeing the Whirlpool Design 2000 video, I'm now convinced more than EVER that Whirlpool was way ahead of their time. And don't even get me started about the underwater muffled banging from the dual action agitator.

You could literally feel and watch the cabinet twisting on full loads of regular clothes, I.E. cotton/linen.

I noticed the dependable care couldn't handle full loads. On top of not rooling over huge loads, it would trip the balance sensor shutting off the machine. And, don't even get me started with GE's attempted copy.

I figured. And don't even get me started with summertime. That season is known for being the worst offender when it comes to smelly and really dirty laundry.

And when they did attempt, well... let's just say GE was the worst, especially with that shaking cabinet that twisted and shifted with full loads. Chetlaham can testify to this.

These Whirlpool direct drives were a huge hit well before the 2000's. GE washability nor Maytag could never match that, especially when dealing with extra heavy soil and capacity. Whirlpool had it down to a science.

Exactly. People are still falling for them, yet they explode and hem and haw when their said product with the "latest and greatest" tech doesn't work as they should.

I've had that happen to my older GE filter-flo and replaced with another GE which had a plastic tub.

Which GE? The filter-flo or the plastic tub GE's?

Some did, others didn't. One thing I like about the DD is that the laundry detergent, bleach, or fabric softener wouldn't drain out even for a second when agitation started.

Whirlpool really was ahead of their time with these. Maytag or GE couldn't even touch them with a 10 foot pole. The technology was advanced, and it was called laundry engineered advanced program.
