The GE Lift-top dishwasher looks like it has a little port opening in the top. Did water still come out of it even though there wasn't a spinner blade attached to it?
Was it capped off and you had to pay extra for the spinner and third level wash?
This thread reminds me of an episode of Mama's family where Niomi refused to iron Vint's shirt.
Mama said tell him to wear his old shirt. He doesn't work hard enuff to work up a sweat anyway.
The styling of it reminds me very much of the Beaumark appliances sold by The Bay department store here in Canada in the early 90's. Were these dishwashers cheaply made or just did not work well? Looks like it could hold a decent amount of dishes.

My Aunt did the laundry for the Catholic church 50 years ago in her wringer.
Huge NO NO to wash anything with the alter cloths.
My mom's 29 year old Kenmore Dual Action has had the agitator dogs replaced twice.
The other day I noticed it was a bit sluggish turning but seem to right itself.
I then noticed the fabric softener was not emptying . Even after the last spin it would be still full.
I took it off and swirled it...
It does sound disgusting but on the other hand 100 years ago overalls probably didn't go thru the wringer everyday.
Mrs Walton probably didn't wash 7 or 9 pairs of overalls or jeans everyday.
Probably didn't wash 10 pairs of underwear everyday either.
One appliance I could do without is a freezer.
Unless you have a big family or are a hunter I just don't see the need for it.
How many of us do not live within a twenty minute walk or drive from a grocery store.
I find chest freezers are the worst. Who ever really sees the bottom of one and...
For nostalgic reasons I would go for a Beatty brothers wringer washer since the factory was 45 minutes from my home.
I think those wringers were built as tuff as a Maytag.
Several of the neighbour ladies had a Beatty and my grandmother had one. It was a Wash well. Big angle wing perforated...
