Best cleaning, most reliable dishwasher available?

Our 2 year old Kenmore dishwasher just broke and even though i suspect it might just be the pump i have no interest in replacing it as i have always hated it and it was only $299 new. I am looking for a reliable dishwasher that cleans well and i know that's allot to ask for with today's energy...

What is it about DD washers?

I don't see why so many people love direct drive washers. Could someone please explain the liking of these machines? Personally I think they're great for commercial washers but I would never have one in my house. My reasoning for not liking them is because of the neutral drain, loud thumping...

    1978 Norge bearings? Seal?

Not to be the bearer of bad news but.. Often when the tub seal and bearings begin failing it will allow water to leak into the transmission which makes the transmission lock up. I have seen this happen many times in Maytag/Amana searcy washers and i suppose it could happen to other washing...

Is Whirlpool making COMMERCIAL belt drive washers?

Were onto another topic now but... I get what your saying. Why do they call modern day appliances energy efficient and all that when they don't last more than a few years? they're certainly not helping the landfills much! sure they use less water and power but after a few years you have to get...

Is Whirlpool making COMMERCIAL belt drive washers?

Lets face it... These machines do not turn the clothes over the way they should so clothes end up coming out fairly dingy, they do not rinse the way they should which makes your skin itch with leftover detergent and lastly the spin speed is not very fast. I have done loads of laundry in a belt...

Is Whirlpool making COMMERCIAL belt drive washers?

Well... I have a friend who's 2011 Kenmore belt drive is making a clunking noise when the spin cycle is coasting to a stop and its only ever been used in a single person household. Hes also always complaining about it constantly going off balance and making strange burning smells when the heavy...

Is Whirlpool making COMMERCIAL belt drive washers?

I have seen a few comments on here about Whirlpool making commercial quality belt driven washers....is this true? I suppose they wouldn't be any worse than GE commercial washers but still, shouldn't they just continue making direct drives for commercial laundry products? I don't understand why...

I had no idea HE washers worked this terribly...

The only HE washer I would buy Would be a Samsung or an LG turbo-drum (only top load models)

I had no idea HE washers worked this terribly...

Yes but.. The average consumer would think to use the Normal/Regular cycle for most clothes so unless they are washing a comforter or something in the Bulky cycle they wouldn't use the other cycles all that often. I will admit the allergen cycle is a good cycle for people with allergies and I...

I had no idea HE washers worked this terribly...

Watch the video and you will see what I mean, skip to 4:00 minutes to see how its washing!! just the thought of the lack of water makes my skin crawl...imagine if you had one of these and had allergies to detergent or scents! If I had one of these washers I would throw it off a cliff and laugh...

Question about a direct drive washer

No But of course I would be trying it out before I bring it into the house. I might be willing to to buy a new gear case for it if there was water in it but I doubt it, I never much cared for direct drive washers with the clunking agitation and the roaring sound they make while draining but I...

Question about a direct drive washer

in 2010 my great grandmother bought a DD Roper washer for her cottage, it was used for 5 months then winterized for the winter. That winter her cottage was flooded and the washer (in the barn) was likely almost fully submerged in the water until the water subsided (im guessing 5 days or a week?)...

    Downy unstoppable's

I bought some last weeks and I have to admit the laundry smells great. My issue with them is that when the washer goes into the spin cycle i hear allot of spitting and sputtering noises coming from the pump and at first it almost gave me a coronary as I thought one of the hoses must of came off...

    Maytag Laundry brochure

No but... I have read reviews on the models with the electronic controls and i remember a few people saying that the control board broke after a year or less of use. Their were similar electronic control models (not listed in these brochures for some reason)when I went to buy my Maytag...

Yes Amana NAV and Maytag SAV models are the same as Speed Queen and Amana just with a Maytag transmission and failure prone drum bearings.

    Maytag Laundry brochure

It wasn't so much the MAV and PAV model washers that had issues with the tub seals, it was usually the SAV and NAV models that have poor compatibility with that particular tub seal and bearing design. I notice that its usually the Maytag washers that do have the stainless steel tubs that the...
