    My hide-away

That looks awesome.  I really like the cubes.  I could use quite a few!  Was it a special order through Walmart's website?

Finally a 40" vent hood - and a good one!

Greg you will love this hood!  It is so powerful and actually quite quiet for such a powerful range hood. We found ours off of Craigslist also.  I think we paid $25 for it.  They were very happy to get it out of their garage.   The hood that was in our house when we bought it was crap.  When...

    heat pumps...

Sounds like your vintage Floor Furnace could be a Payne.  I am wondering if Carrier owned Payne back during that time.  Payne was a very good Furnace company. Do you have a way to take a picture of it to post?  It sounds so interesting. Thanks Brent

    heat pumps...

That does "sound" like a Coleman brand.  They were the only floor furnace that had separate burners instead of one large (long) burner.

    heat pumps...

I grew up in homes with Gas Colman Floor furnaces as a kid in New Orleans.  I loved the heat.  Of course this was  back when they were very cheap to run.  Loved the nice even heat.  One home I grew up in had 3 of them.  I still can remember hearing the gas valve clank and hearing the huge burner...

    heat pumps...

Sanyo had a system that was out for about 10 years or more that had a small heater box that the coils ran through.  There was a very small gas flame at very low btu's that heated the coils when the temp dropped below a certain temp causing the heat output to be quite high.  It worked quite...

Installed: Maytag 8100 Washer & Dryer

If you are handy with wood there is a much cheaper alternative to the store bought pedestals.    If you are dead set on getting the manufactured pedestals check Craigslist.  There are so many "used" appliance dealers that sell overstocked pedestals for many brands.  I have seen them as cheap...

    Newest Whirlpool duet explosion found....

Although I am just guessing...I shudder to think of a nail salon washing their towels in cold water!  Yuck! Want to punish me for life?  Make me work in a nail salon dealing with nasty toes and nails day in and out.

    Newest Whirlpool duet explosion found....

There has got to be some type of sensor that is not working correctly in these washers.  Take for instance my first generation HE3T washer.  If a load was severely off balance and could not be redistributed the washer would only spin as slowly as it could handle the load or actually not spin at...

    Real Kenmore A/C 8,000 BTU

I had the Whirlpool that is pictured here in 18,000 Btu's.  It was a 220 with the "energy saver".  Great a/c and very quiet.  Bought it new at Woolco around 1984. That Westinghouse is from the 1960's.  Someone posted a commercial of Frank Gifford installing it into a window.  I like the grill...

    Maytag Maxima, LG or Samsung?

Eugene, Are you going to wait until the Labor Day Sales for the LG? Rumor has it that LG is giving the green light to big box stores to drastically reduce the prices of most of their machines for Labor Day sales.  Next Holiday sale will be Black Friday that most stores will do the first round...
