Miele still has the 13/2 rythm at least mine has, build in 2000. But it's true that miele has different rythms, so maybe your 11/4 is one of them!

Why does LG has that strange filling routine... They fill with very short burst of water at the beginning, and just after a few moments they start to fill up. Is there any reason why? I've never seen other washers do it that way.
