Adam Alas, not anymore. That was an early 60's model, long ago replaced by my mum with a mid-80's Bendix and then a Bosch. About 20 years out of each, so quite good really. I've had a late 80's Bendix, then an Asko set around 2001 and am now on a Miele set from 2018.

Very exciting! What a wonderful find. That's the machine our neighbour had when I was growing up. She later replaced it with a Hoover Keymatic ... Good luck with bringing her back to life - it will be a rewarding project.

Lid warning ... What a curious machine. If it's any help, the German writing on the lid says not to turn the heating on without water in the wash tub. Looking at the layout, I'd take Keymatic's advice and not run the spinner with the lid open either ...

FWIW ... I'm sure these were sold in AU with a Dishlex brand back in the late 60s/early 70s. Lavastoviglia is Italian for "dishwasher". The "stoviglia" part suggests "service" or "place setting". The "Stovella" brand may have been a sound-pun on that word in Italian, much as "Dishlex"...

Maybe it's a washing machine ... with a rack Perhaps it was only ever meant to be used as a washing machine. The rack could be there as a convenience for when washing up dishes by hand, rather than being for mechanically cleaning them.

Taps/Faucets The taps are interesting. Am I right guessing the one above the l/h trough is cold and that there is hot and cold above the r/h trough? That suggests to me they were thinking of washing by hand in the r/h and rinsing in the left. How old is the place? Was there a copper/boiler...
