Stuck spanner nut -- Maytag LAT2600AAE

Dang............ The wife & I, both engineers, tune in for the science and, don't forget, the Quest. For only $49.55 + tax + a little more labor, we would all have known for sure. All kidding aside, our direct-drive Whirlpool wasn't in much better shape. I revived it to help avoid...

Stuck spanner nut -- Maytag LAT2600AAE

Left-Hand Thread One of our local experts has confirmed you should be tapping your spanner wrench in the clock-wise direction, for this particular washer.

Second rinsing in SQ TL - calling on combo52

Thanks, Everyone.......... This is exactly the kind of insight we were looking for.

Second rinsing in SQ TL - calling on combo52

Thanks, Washer........ Believe we're thinking along the same lines.

Second rinsing in SQ TL - calling on combo52

Washer 111....... Outside of this forum, we haven't run across much anecdotal evidence of sub-standard tub seals on the SQ top loaders. Please, advise. Thanks!

    New SQ FL AWNE9

Thanks, Helicadrive....... It wasn't a bore to us. Nothing else really matters. Thanks, again.

    New SQ FL AWNE9

Hate to put you on the spot, but....... .......we were wondering if the extra-clean clothes were the product of a stuffed tub, or one of the smaller (thump, thump, thump) loads, which aren't supposed to clean as well?

    New SQ FL AWNE9

Thanks, Laundress..... So, king-size comforter? We'll continue to leave it to the professionals. No top loader buyers remorse for us. Thanks for your insight.

    New SQ FL AWNE9

Sounds Great........ Just out of curiosity, do you think a king-size comforter would fit in there? We were just curious. Thanks.

Questions about newest Speed Queen top-load washers

Correction.... I meant low agitation speeds for the Bulky Cycle through the wash & rinse cycles. Miss read the table, again. It's easy to do.

Questions about newest Speed Queen top-load washers

Mercer..... SQ provides cycle operation tables for the E-model in the owners manual. On the first read, they are as clear as mud. After spending some time with it, this SQTL seems to guarantee such things as low agitation & spin speeds from wash to final spin on the Bulky cycle. For...

    New SQ FL AWNE9

Well Said A small but heavy lump of wet clothing resting at the six O'clock position, just before spinning. For most any front loader, we were thinking it would sound something like thump, thump, thump for awhile. Our sometimes smaller loads not a good fit for the FL's, we think.

    New SQ FL AWNE9

Congratualtions......... There is probably going to be a learning curve with the new FL. Eventually, you'll probably find the right formula. We came very close to purchasing this same front loader as a daily driver, but got cold feet. We already knew how the Speed Queen top loaders...

Goodbye Cheap WP DD Roper Hello Speed Queen

6,796 Posts Pretty sure my dad wanted to live in a world where everyone was just like him. We're not like that. Acute observations, balanced with subtle humor are lost on some. Within reason, we try to accept people for who they are. Thanks for listening, and have a nice day.

Goodbye Cheap WP DD Roper Hello Speed Queen

Yes, This Top Loader Is Perfect........ Couple of decades ago, I may have mentioned something about not drying my jeans in the dryer, due to shrinkage. Since then, have been doing my own laundry - which actually turned out to be a good thing. Today, I can actually get away with washing one...

Goodbye Cheap WP DD Roper Hello Speed Queen

A Bubble Off........... Front-to-back is easier with the self-adjusting levelers in the rear. My new Speed Queen installers gave the left-to-right the old college try with their smallish torpedo level. Unfortunately, after they left, none of my Stabila's agreed, so I made the final...

CR's take on Speed Queen TLs

For us, CR is a sort of novelty read while waiting for our drugs at Walgreens. They've been off the mark too many times for them to be taken too seriously. Over 60, now, our experimenting days are over. Wanted to try a FL, but couldn't pull the trigger due to the conflicting feedback. At...

CR's take on Speed Queen TLs

A couple of the earlier posters mentioned something about CR not measuring or rating rinse performance. Some others weren't sure how effective the SQ Eco spray rinse would be on the top loader. Skeptical about the Eco spray rinse, ourselves, we thought a weekend experiment might be in order...

CR's take on Speed Queen TLs

Thanks, Mark..... You never really know about things like large appliances until you've lived with them for awhile. That's why we want CR to be right. Large appliances are difficult to return. Anyways......we don't have that much to offer, but enjoy the banter just the same. Nick

CR's take on Speed Queen TLs

Plus 1 on the Speed Queen AWNE92. Only thing we don't like is the lack of temperature control on the fill valve; however, there are workarounds for this. If CR wanted to throw stones at the current SQ line, maybe they should land closer to the dryers?? Nothing worse than over drying your...
