    KitchenAid KDS-21 Questions

Some answers The KA models have a different pump. The KA has a narrower filter top; the WP is a Power Clean pump with a wider mesh top filter (this filter idea was taken from KA when WP acquired them and adapted to the Power Clean pump). The WP model also has a coarse filter ring around the...

Permanent Press Cooldown That Fills While Agitating

Sorry, I stated that backwards! It starts to fill and agitate first and then stops if the pressure switch is not satisfied until it is, and then starts agitating again. Oops!

Permanent Press Cooldown That Fills While Agitating

It's a timing issue based on the water pressure and the cams in the timer (it does this on both WP & KM models). The change was made in the early 60's to give better performance with the process. The timer is still running when it first starts to fill. If it fills before the timer increment is...

    Tearing into the GESU70T dishwasher

Will this help? Hi Paul, I don't have that wiring diagram but I did find this one for an SU70 & 70 S2. These models do not have a rapid advance timer but do appear to have all of the same options as yours. It looks like it's a model below yours. I hope it can help. Good luck!

    Potscrubber III 1200

The Potscrubber II series had forced air drying. Interestingly when they were first introduced the dry cycle was skipped when the energy saving dry was selected. The timer rapid advanced to off. The fan only ran when heated dry was selected. A subsequent change to the timer had the fan on...

Whirlpool washer not spinning or draining and I'd love to try to get it working!

Broken wig wag As John said a broken wig wag will not prevent the machine from draining if it's not already in agitation. If the agitate side broke while in agitate mode than it will it prevent draining and spin will not engage because the water level switch is tripped (i.e. it will not shift...

    1967 Whirlpool Washer

That's a nice machine Jon, and in great condition. I've always liked the brush filter; very "whirlpool" action when you remove it while running! :) Congrats and enjoy!

They're here! 1967 Speed Queen set

The dishwasher is a Tappan. One of their last in-house designs. It has six cycles (I think) and three modifier buttons. You can see the modifier buttons next to the door handle. The left side of the panel has cycle sequence lights. This was not a ReversaJet; it was the model series after it.

    KDC-20 KitchenAid Dishwasher Repair Advice

Thanks for that additional info. It just dawned on me that one other thing you could listen for is if the sound occurs while the dishwasher is draining. The machine uses a solenoid operated drain valve as well. There are still many parts available for these models. Timers might be harder...

    KDC-20 KitchenAid Dishwasher Repair Advice

That’s what I was thinking. Lynn, was the machine filling up when the noise started? I see that the timer is at the starting point of a cycle.

    KDC-20 KitchenAid Dishwasher Repair Advice

Thanks for the additional info. The detergent dispenser operates through the current draw of the motor. At the proper point in the cycle the timer re-routes the current to the motor through the dispenser bi-metal causing it to heat and bend upward. When it bends upward it releases the...

    KDC-20 KitchenAid Dishwasher Repair Advice

No, No. Stop! With respect to my fellow AW members who've responded this is NOT the correct way to check/replace the detergent dispenser. Removing the front panels as described/illustrated will only reveal the metal stabilizing panel behind them. You must remove the entire panel pack and...

    GE Cafe 36" Gas Cooktop

We have this exact cooktop.  We got it during our remodel and like it very much.  I have the 30" version; i believe yours is 36".   My husband does the majority of the cooking and he has had no issue with the burner layout or available space.  It does have the back-lit knobs and a griddle; yours...

Inside anatomy of a Kitchen Aid 23 series dishwasher

Check valve Hi, I've been reading this thread and based on your observation of the water returning to the sump i'm fairly confident the check valve at the drain outlet is not working properly.  I know you mentioned you replaced it, but if it's working only a small amount of water (1-2 cups)...

Hobart/Kitchenaid KDI-58- how to build in?

This model (& later ones) was designed to be installed with the cabinet attached.  You remove the top, hoses, power cord, front wheels, toe kick trim and then cut out the access holes based on the conversion instructions.  The rear wheels and cabinet stay on as there is not tub support without...

Club Out Reach- GE FILTER FLO

I have one Hi Jon,  I sent you a message but not sure you've seen it?  A standard capacity Hotpoint rimflow came in; the basket is in great shape.  If you still need it let me know & I can grab it & send it to you.  Not sure what the cost would be, but it will be coming from 84101 if you want...
